Amy Winehouse is "hopefully" going to release the follow-up to her 2006 album 'Back To Black' next year, according to her record label boss.

Island records co-president Darcus Beese told BBC News that some demos for the long-awaited third album from the singer had already been recorded.

"I've heard a couple of song demos that absolutely floored me," he said. "Hopefully we'll have her album next year."

He added that the demo sessions had been recorded "in fits and starts."

Winehouse has been overseeing the release of her goddaughter, Dionne Bromfield's debut album, 'Introducing Dionne Bromfield', out Monday (October 12). The album is being released through Winehouse's own record label, Lioness Records.

To promote the record Winehouse is set to make her public comeback on 'Strictly Come Dancing' tomorrow (October 10), singing backing vocals for Bromfield.
