The band members had been bickering for weeks before Omarion arrived in Philadelphia for a concert. In his hotel room, Omarion waits for one of the other band members to call, saying they're ready to reunite for the tour's last two performances. He writes, "My boys and I are communicating mostly by managers and magazine articles--when just a few weeks ago we were shooting hoops and playing Xbox."
The phone call never comes, and Omarion leaves for the venue, hoping he'll meet up with his band mates there. After some brief rehearsing, Omarion is sitting in the back of the arena when his cell phone rings. He writes, "I flipped open the phone and listened to a solid minute of loud static. I could hear what sounded like a voice, trying to communicate with me, but it was too broken up. I'll never know who made that call, but some part of me hoped it was one of the guys, calling to explain things or just talk."
Omarion returns to his dressing room, and prepares for what would be a solo performance. With the audience chanting "B2K! B2K!" Omarion takes his place backstage. He writes, "...just before I ran out I took one last look behind me. I knew my three band mates wouldn't be there, but I looked anyhow. I took a deep breath and hit the stage. The guys were gone, and they weren't coming back."
In the book, Omarion also discusses his childhood in Los Angeles, his stint with the gang Under Age Criminals, and the early years of B2K.
O will be in stores on February 1.
Omarion's song "O" is at Number 59 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.
