"Peter" Doherty Avoids Arrests, Completes Album

E! Online, Jan 16, 2009 1:00 pm PST
We were wondering what was keeping Pete Doherty out of the police blotter and gossip pages of late. Now we have our answer.

Astralwerks Records announced today that the newly christened "Peter" Doherty (our boy's apparently all grown up) has been finishing up his first solo album for release on March 24.

The sobriety-challenged British rocker, who got kicked out of the The Libertines and spent most of his recent tenure in Babyshambles shuttling between court and rehab, recorded the album in the fall with producer Stephen Street (The Smiths, Blur, Cranberries, Kaiser Chiefs).

The album's title: Grace/Wasteland. Sounds like a place Doherty is very familiar with.
