Blackalicious's Gift Of Gab Undergoes Emergency Eye Surgery
Yahoo! Music, Mar 3, 2003 5:00 pm PST(3/3/03, 5 p.m. ET) -- Upstart hip-hop duo Blackalicious was forced to cancel several shows when group member Gift Of Gab underwent emergency eye surgery on Tuesday (February 25) to stop some internal bleeding.
Group manager Robert Bennett explained the surgery to news outlets, saying, "To stop the bleeding internally they're doing laser surgery. Monday (March 3) they're going to drain the eye to put in new fluids."
Gift Of Gab suffers from diabetes and has experienced difficulties in the past. Bennett explained, "We thought we had it under control."
The group's debut MCA album, Blazing Arrow, came out last April.
