Play Bret Michaels Off The Tony Awards, Keyboard Cat

Posted Mon Jun 8, 2009 11:36am PDT by Lyndsey Parker in And The Winner Is...

All right, let me just preface this blog by saying that IF Bret Michaels had been seriously injured during his performance with Poison at last night's Tony Awards, the video below would NOT be funny.

But, since Bret is reportedly OK after last night's onstage incident...well, this is pretty dang hilarious:

Yes, in probably the most Spinal Tap-esque moment in Broadway history, Bret was nearly decapitated--or at least almost lost part of his golden blonde weave--when a descending set piece toppled him over at the end of his "Nothin' But A Good Time" performance with the Rock Of Ages cast.

But apparently his wig/cowboy hat combo was not just a totally awesome fashion statement. It seems it also served as some sort of helmet-like head armor. And so, Bret survived with only minor injuries aside from his bruised ego.

Thus, let the mockery begin in earnest...Keyboard Cat-style!

i think most of you are truly pathetic examples of the human race. my cousin actually was decapitated in a motorcycle accident when i was 10:i heard about it a few moments later on the radio. my ex-husband was killed in a construction accident and my kids saw it first on the news.my son was killed in a car wreck here in tulsa and the next morning the reporter was seen laughing before the segment showing his car wrapped around a tree. finally, we learned of the death of the love of my life from a tv update as we sat down to thanksgiving dinner in 1989;he left a six month old daughter that still grieves the father she has never known. like him or not, bret michaels is a human being and he is also a parent. i am sure this was a traumatic experience for his kids.i hope they never see your "hilarious" videos or read your sickening comments as i know first hand the damage they can cause. i feel sorry for you people whose parents failed to teach you better. while you may consider his injuries relatively minor, rejoicing in the misfortunes of others is about as petty as you can get.

That makes me so happy. That bald pus*y is so funny. Perfect ending to most of the worst music ever written. That little midget needed more than a whack on the head.

Thank God Bret is able to walk away w/o much injury!

That stage prop wouldn't have decapitated him. Its not like it would of came slamming down on his neck. It moved pretty slow, and he should feel like an idiot for running into it. I'm glad it happened to him. It was great. Keep it up brett you make a better clown then you do a rock star anyways.

He's okay, so it's alright to laugh. He'll probably laugh about it too someday, if not already. If he would have been decapitated, it would have been sad, but at least we would never have to see another "Rock of Love" show. Just try to see the silver lining out of it.
