Laughing With Obama And McPalin’s MP3s

Posted Fri Oct 31, 2008 4:28pm PDT by Ken Micallef in Better Living Through MP3

Sometimes, when the weight of the world, when the cares of this mortal coil weigh you down, brother, you just gotta laugh. Cast off the deceitfulness of riches, the false hopes of vanity and ego, and simply be....here...now! Yea, that's an old ‘60s bromide, back when laughter "was contagious," and we were all "free to be you and me." Come the '80s, and it was "Morning in America." A few years later, "Keep hope alive!" promoted political thought at the expense of thoughtful conversation. "Yes we can!" is the new call to hope, and with that hope may come ...you got it....more laughter.

So kick back and enjoy these fine examples of white trash humor, ‘70s hipster high fives, urban lowbrow insults and certain ethnic weirdness. Hey, McPalin might win after all. If so, these jokes and rib ticklers will put you in good stead with the "real people" of small town America. Well, maybe not.

Are you better off then you were 4 years ago? Who remembers 4 years ago?

AP
Fri Nov 27, 2009 4:03am PST

AP - Noisy crowds in smoky bars don't bother 96-year-old bluesman Pinetop Perkins. It's all part of his job. Most nights, after he snuffs out his menthol cigarette, Perkins slides onto the piano bench in some club and … More »
