Zep Flies Again!

Posted Fri Oct 31, 2008 5:00pm PDT by Blender Magazine in The Blender Burner

In this week's edition, Led Zeppelin announce a reunion tour, but without lead singer Robert Plant will they still have the Hammer of the Gods? Burner offers up suggestions for Plant's replacement.

Also reuniting in '09 are the Jackson 5, with Janet as a possible opening act. She'll need to recover from current problem-plagued solo tour, which LL Cool J just left.

Finally, an exclusive interview with rockers Hinder, who reveal the best (and most useful!) gift a fan has ever given them.

The singer of Cincinnati based rockers Drugstore Valentine should be Led Zep's new singer.... Haha...Cheap plug!!!

2. Yahoo! Music User -
the lead singer of great white should be chosen as the lead singer for zep. his version of several zep songs is the closest anyone has come to robert plant.

3. Paul -
Jackson 5? You mean Jackson 4 unless that's there sly way of saying that Michael will be joining them but it's kept a secret. I have a hunch it will be like the Monkees concert back in 1986 when Michael Nesmith walked on the stage with the other 3 Monkees and performed 2 songs and that was it.
I betcha this is what the Jackson brotheres have in mind.

I think that's a terrible idea to tour without Robert Plant. Besides, who could possibly replace him?

5. michael -
it should be a very talented black women

6. Jenny -
A sugar Daddy is a good thing for a young girl, I had one. Led Zep is not going to be the same w/o PLANT what about that white stripe guy? Sammy Hagar?
stevie winwood?or maybe there should be a reality show to decide.

7. The Anchor -
I think William Hung would make a great replacement for Robert Plant!

8. Andrew H -
I grew up on Zeppelin, saw them at Knebworth in the 70's and firmly believe they are without a doubt the greatest rock band of all time, both live and in the studio. However, if Robert Plant isn't touring, I ain't interested. End of story. Period. Face it - Zeppelin without Plant is like U2 without Bono or The Rolling Stones without Mick or Keith. I'm frankly shocked and somewhat disgusted that Page and JPJ would even consider this to be a true Zeppelin tour. Maybe they owe the taxman, who knows? And as for Robert - Alison Krauss is cool and all that, but she's no substitute for being the Hammer. Get off your [profane]whipped butt, go tour and give your fans what they want. It will only add to your legacy. Nuff said. Out.

9. michael -
black crows and jimmy page......remember

10. taboobiker73 -
I don't know why they would call it a Led Zeppelin reunion. When Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, and Jason Bonham go on tour together, that and only that, would be what I would call an acceptable Led Zeppelin reunion. I think John would agree.

well, has anyone heard "hammer of the gods-two nights in north america"? hands down, it should be daniel godenlow from pain of salvation. period!

12. Yahoo! Music User -
anyone heard "hammer of the gods-two nights in north america" look it up. Daniel godenlow from Pain Of Salvation is the only person to sound close without blatently ripping off robert plant.

I HAVE BEEN A ZEPPELIN FAN SINCE 1969, SEEN THEM 4 TIMES AND JIMMY PAGE SOLO TOUR ONE TIME. I THINK JIMMY PAGE AND JONES AND JASON BONHAM SHOULD AGREE TOGETHER WHO THE RIGHT SIGER SHOULD BE. THEY SHOULD KNOW, AFTER ALL,THEY KNOW LED ZEPPELIN BETTER THAN ANYONE ELSE.

14. michael -
This is like deciding on who would fill in for a Jimi Hendrix reunion tour. I agree with
feelingfine03 & Andrew & taboobiker73.

15. joseph -
How do you replace Robert plant?, Zep fans like me are not happy about this. But if it has to happen then Steven Tyler is obviously the best choice.

16. Jernene -
David Coverdale from Whitesnake was always compared to him...why not hire him?

17. Balls Deep -
Warren Haynes. The Gov't Mule-Allman Brother-Dead front man can sing ANYTHING,,, plus an extra smokin' guitar will give those great songs a new dimension.

18. whammy! -
Leave it be, please and have no reunion. What a legacy you'd be tampering with.
No Zep reunion without Robert Plant!

19. Javier -
CHRIS CORNELL!!!!!
or, the guy from Wolfmother.

NO STEVEN TYLER, OR COVERDALE!!!!!

20. Yahoo! Music User -
How 'bout Obama? He'll have some free time when he gets his butt kicked on Nov. 4th.
