"Just Dance" by Lady GaGa featuring Colby O'Donis sold 419,000 downloads in the last week of 2008. Only one other song has ever sold that many downloads in a one-week period.

In 2008, for the first time, more fans paid to download the year's #1 song than bought the year's #1 album. In fact, the year's top five songs each rang up more paid downloads than the year's #1 album achieved in total sales.

The weaker sex? Hardly. For the first time in more than 11 years, female solo artists hold down four of the top five spots on The Billboard 200. Taylor Swift and Keyshia Cole lead the way.

A couple of years ago, Britney Spears' career was on the slide. This week, she's back at #1 with Circus, which sold 505,000 copies. It's Spears' best week on the charts in more than five years.

Kanye West's 808s & Heartbreak debuts at #1 with first-week sales of 450,000. That's less than half of what his last album sold in its first week. But it's more than Guns N' Roses managed.

As of this week, Beyonce has had more #1 albums on her own than she did with Destiny's Child. She's on the short list of one-time members of major groups who have done even better on their own.
