Alan Jackson, Framed

Posted Thu Jan 24, 2008 11:21pm PST by John Kordosh in Framed

If you like old school country music, you may be a fan of Alan Jackson. The Georgia native released his first album in 1990, and has sold over 40 million records and scored 30 #1 country hits since. He's won countless industry awards and, recently, the smooth-voiced star was nominated for a 2008 Grammy for best male country vocal performance for last year's "A Woman's Love."

Our video this week is Jackson's latest, "Small Town Southern Man," released as a single last year and slated to appear on his pending Good Time album. It tells the story of a regular Joe who believes in the values of family, faith and tradition, like many in Jackson's audience.  We're sure that--like us!--you'll find it to be uplifting as all git-out... so enjoy, and please let us know what you think!

1 - At last! The inside story of how Jack and Chrissie really met!

2 - "Why, yes, ma'am, it is a gun. Still, I really am glad to meet you."

3 - "So now I can git drunk ever' night and beat you, right?"

4 - Just try to keep the Eagles from rockin'. Just try.

5 - "Well, no. Actually, I'm in the Texas National Guard."

6 - "Respect it, girls... this here's a small town, Southern coffee maker."

7 - "Whaddaya know? I'm cranked out of my mind, too!"

8 - "Wait a minute. This may actually be some sort of musical instrument."

9 - "Then... sitting so close to the giant phallus has no symbolic meaning for you whatsoever?!"

10 - "For twenty bucks, lady, the air stays in the tires."

11 - "Don't be silly! Of course we'll grow up to be intolerant crackers!"

12 - And, just then, the gray-haired lady in the back had an idea!

The song and video are classic country and totally Alan Jackson style. The song tells a great story. Obviously, your writers must be out on strike because the replacements have no decent judgement and have made several tasteless comments under the pics. Shame on you.

Wait a minute. This may actually be some sort of satirical instrument.

I agree the captions unde the pictures are in bad taste. I have always liked Alan Jackson, thinking he was one of the most talented artist to come out of the 90's. I can wait to see him at the FL Strawberry Festival next month.
