OneRepublic, Framed

Posted Wed Feb 6, 2008 4:58pm PST by John Kordosh in Framed

We have a real treat for you this week, readers. We're going to take you inside the recording studio to get a look at OneRepublic, the up-and-coming Colorado quintet who've made a huge splash with their hit single, "Apologize." That's right... you'll be there to see what really went down when the tape was rolling.

Yep, we're just that good.

OneRepublic, much like our good friend Colbie Caillat, got things going on MySpace, where they've been huge for over a year now. After a brief stint at Columbia Records, they moved over to Interscope, where they released their debut album, Dreaming Out Loud, last November. "Apologize" is featured on that album, but hit #1 in the form of a Timbaland remix that appeared on his Shock Value record.

Things are going great for the guys, and we're way happy to do our part by taking you to ground zero, as it were, for the inside story. So please feel free to post often letting us know what you think. See you next week!

1 - "Boy, I sure am tired. It's hard to stay awake around this band."

2 - "Zzzzzzz."

3 - "Man, must've stayed out too late last night. Of course, this song is really, really dull."

4 - "Zzzzzzz."

5 - "Jeez, if it's this boring in the flashback, what must it be like in the actual song?"

6 - "Zzzzzzz."

7 - "Zzzzzzz."

8 - "Hey, wake up, white boys. This is costin' you money."

9 - "Huh? Whatzat?"

10 - "Zzzzzzz."

11 - "Ah, hell, I might as well go back to sleep, too."

12 - "Huh? Almost up. Gimme five more minutes."

13 - "Wake up, dude, you're trapped in the most boring song ever!"

14 - "Oh, God, just kill me now."

15 - "Zzzzzzz."

16 - "Zzzzzzz."

17 - "Zzzzzzz."

I really admire this song, this is definately something I can relate to. Its actually kind of sad, so I can't listen to it often, it has a tendency to bring up past situations and make me reflect on the unecessary. I've never heard of "OneRepublic" until now and I believe they're on their way to becoming a new favorite. That voice is astonishing, leaving a imprint on my heart, this song is really heart felt.
