Matchbox Twenty, Framed

Posted Mon Apr 21, 2008 1:14pm PDT by John Kordosh in Framed

Matchbox Twenty--MBT for the rest of this blog--came to us from Florida, much like Creed, the greatest rock band of all time, according to something we wrote a few weeks ago.

There must be something in the water there. Oddly enough, people from Florida who write about rock music are widely known to be the worst at their trade. Go figure!

But back to MBT. They've sold over 40 million albums and have electrified crowds for well over a decade now. This week's video, "How Far We've Come"--which talks about the death of all humanity--is MBT at their best. Conjuring images from both today and the era that was previous to today, MBT paint a stark, unsettling picture of our fate here on Earth.

It's all pretty chilling. But is it accurate?  We leave that to you, our esteemed readers. As always, we welcome your informed comments.

1 - "But how can we fake a moon landing with that stupid rock band in the control room?"

2 - "That's one small step for man, one big... um... script!"

3 - Fortunately, NASA had just added a "kill the stupid rock band" button.

4 - The world was shocked when a split and dispirited Democratic party decided to renominate the long-dead former president!

5 - "Admit it!  Framed is our greatest blog!"

6 - And shoelaces, untie!

7 - Rob Thomas's attempt to summon the Fimbulwinter telepathically stunned Asgard!

8 - The traditional Tibetan "thanks" for occupying their poor, defenseless nation has puzzled international observers.

9 - "Why the heck are we still in this week's blog?"

10 - Blowing up the Eiffel Tower was just phase one of the Bin Laden/hottie Rob Thomas plan!

11 - "And this here's Dick Cheney, back when he was skinny."

12 - The former Vice President was happy to see the Supreme Court coming up the alley.

13 - "Why, yes, I am bitter.  Bitter that Framed isn't posted daily!"

14 - "Landed on the moon?  Of course I did!  And under fire!"

15 - "Hello, readers.  I apologize."

16 - "Worst Framed ever?  Your call."

Brilliant! And I'm with Obama, the bitterness is there that this isn't posted daily, it's always full of laughs.

And I'd just like to say that that picture from Tiananmen Square is still haunting.

Rob Thomas, by the hammer of Odin, I smite thee!

I can't top Grandmaster Dinksmack's comment, but I would like to add that MBT should stand for Mundane, Boring, and Talentless.

""Creed, the greatest rock band of all time, according to something we wrote a few weeks ago."" You must be from florida yourself, though they are a decent band calling them the greatest rock band of all time lol. Put the crack pipe down.
