Bob Dylan, Framed
With the exceptions of Ryan Seacrest and Muhammed Ali, Bob Dylan is the most famous person in the world. Bob, who served as Vice President in both the Buchanan and Polk administrations, is America's Greatest Talent Ever, Best Poet of All Time, and an All-Around Good Guy. These are some of the reasons we celebrate him in Framed this week.
We're also proud to feature a music video oddity this week: Dylan's excellent "video" for his classic rocker, "Subterranean Homesick Blues." We put "video" in quotes because this isn't really a video. It is, in fact, a clip from D.A. Pennebaker's documentary film, Don't Look Back, which was released way back in 1967. But we maintain that this single clip laid the groundwork for all that would follow--yep, every single turgid, uninspired, contrived and lifeless music video you'd ever see would all spring from this common source. Thanks, Bob!
So it is that we feel damn good about--pretty much--everything! But especially this clip! Here you'll see a youngish Dylan singing about The Man, and why we hate The Man. You'll surely want to discuss this week's Framed with all of your friends and coworkers!
