Taylor Swift, Framed

Posted Mon Oct 27, 2008 11:34am PDT by John Kordosh in Framed

Taylor Swift is still a teenager, yet she's also a country music megastar. Can the two be reconciled?

From her first song, "Tim McGraw," to her new album, Fearless (slated to be released on Nov. 11th), Taylor's displayed a feisty, do-it-herself attitude. She began performing in public at the age of 10 and practiced guitar for hours a day, causing her fingers to bleed. According to the Los Angeles Times, "...she was a brazen 12-year-old who went door to door down Nashville's famed Music Row of record company offices, saying, ‘Hi, I'm Taylor! I write songs and I think you should sign me.'"

Eventually she did get her record deal and released her first LP, Taylor Swift, in 2006, becoming the first female solo country artist to have written or co-written all the songs on her platinum-selling debut. So far she's had six Top 10 country hits.

Is it any wonder that everyone's expecting the home-schooled beauty's second album to make her an even bigger star? We think not! Taylor Swift's an amazingly fresh talent who, we're sure, will be making hit records for years to come. We're very pleased to feature "Love Story," the first video off her new album, in Framed this week, and look forward to hearing what you think!

1 - "Wow. Who would've guessed that intelligent design was ‘a palpable fraud and scientifically valueless?' Thank God for college!"

2 - "Holy smokes! My theistic worldview... 'laughable and ignorant??!'"

3 - "Now that I've time-traveled to ancient Europe, perhaps I can give up this 'heartland music' charade."

4 - "Although the splendid oratory of yon ant has quickened my pulse, the rubber tree plant appears to be unmoved!"

5 - Something about the handsome stranger told the lady that he was, indeed, a homosexual.

6 - "Here's how it works, m'lady. I hand you the drugs and then you ‘powder your nose.'"

7 - If there was a point to the video, she vowed to find it!

8 - Hand-holding outside of marriage, of course, is the first step on the slippery slope of teen pregnancy.

9 - "I know not who he is, but he says his search for ‘Wilbur' has been a long one!"

10 - "I shall make a marinara sauce that is beyond wee!"

11 - It's kind of unusual when a deodorant commercial breaks out right in the middle of a music video.

12 - "Seriously: are you as embarrassed as I am to have been in this video?"

Lame analysis, great video!

3. MICAH C -
Man, that was really lame... those lines were horrible and I don't care if it was tongue in cheek or not, it was biased and weak!!!

another superstar who's parents would prefer the God Almighty dollar to having their senior in high school dress appropriately. At 16 she was just about making love to a freaking guitar in a very grown up dress and lying on a bed...great voice too bad someone decided it wasn't enough

Pointless analysis. I love the video and the song and think it fits. She's gotta be one of the most successful, youngest inspirational out there.

Awww... That was an adorable video. The author's crazy, his "analysis" had nothing to do with the video. I love the song and the video!
