Hinder, Framed
Hello again, readers, and welcome to another edition of "Framed" - the blog that likes you. I've been wanting to take a look at Hinder, the noveau metal band out of Oklahoma, for awhile now. These guys want music to be as it was in the good old days of Motley Crue, GNR, et. al., and who can blame them? I mean, guitarist Joe "Blower" Garvey says his hobby is drinking.
Well, damn, "Blower!" Mine too!!
Anyway, the reason I've wanted to cover Hinder is the profoundly depressing video for their song, "Better Than Me." Lyrically, the song is every bit as demanding as you'd expect, revolving around the notion that the girl deserves someone better than the Hinder guy who's singing it to her. And I think we can all get behind that.
Video-wise, though, "Better Than Me" is a ghastly tour de force, with the irritatingly charmless protagonist eventually killing himself by OD-ing on methamphetamine! Right there in the house he shares with a smoking hot babe he doesn't deserve and would surely never get in real life! And get this: the smoking hot babe is crushed when she's finally rid of this affect-less dope!! It's the kind of weirdo hard rock fantasy I've always enjoyed, and it's good to see them coming back into vogue.
So, without further, ado, ladies and gentlemen: Hinder, framed!
1 - In German, "hinder" means "little ballet boy."
2 - "It's us! At the eHarmony dotcomathon!"
3 - "Life sure sucks. Might as well kill myself."
4 - He's just the bass player. Ignore him.
5 - Everybody loves Dealie Crankerson! He's the best!
6 - Please, God. Please let his serotonin reuptake inhibition begin.
7 - "Perhaps I'll put this picture of my still-living boyfriend here!"
8 - The murder and cremation of one of his people, the Bubbles, surely invites the wrath of Gummo!
9 - "I'm ho-ome! Anybody dead??"
10 - It's never too early for a Spiderman remake!
11 - "The glory days of metal are back!! Arena rock!!! Yaaaghhhh!!!!"
12 - "As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end, yabba dabba doo."
13 - It would be unfair for this blog to gratuitously chop off someone's head.

Hey! wait a minute...I'm a bass player!
Great Job Mr. Kordosh!
"better than me" really hit home for me.
My only complaint? Not earnest enough.
