Katy Perry, Framed
Her success, of course, has come with its fair share of controversy. Two songs off the album--"Ur So Gay" and "I Kissed A Girl"--have been described as anti-gay and homophobic. Said Glenn Sacks, a men's and fathers' issues newspaper columnist, radio commentator, and blogger, of "Ur So Gay": "It's quite angry, contemptuous, and vicious."
Whew. These are tough times, readers! Fortunately, "Thinking Of You" presents us with different challenges. The song--and video--describes Katy's unhappiness with her current beau, and contrasts him with her earlier beau, a now-dead soldier. It all takes place during the very glorious World War II years, which everyone knows was the greatest time ever. We experience Katy's romance with the soldier; we feel her frustration with the new guy. It's an old story made new.
So what do you think, readers? Is Katy Perry a hateful bigot, or a thoughtful artist? Can she establish a career that goes beyond cheap jokes? Are we posing questions that can never be satisfactorily answered? If so, why?
Like everything else, it's all up to you.
1 -- "Remember how you never see Superman and I in the same place, Lois?
2 -- Katy Perry has returned with a great new song! Damn, that was supposed to be Katy Perry's back!
3 -- "And so Satan says, 'Oh yeah? Where are you going to get the lawyer?'"
4 -- "Wait a minute. He's not even a girl."
5 -- Daringly, the Katy of the 1940s rode a Bi Cycle.
6 -- "So do you think that, many years in the future, it will be possible for idle provocateurs to simply imagine what people are saying, and then present it as reality? Or is that farfetched?"
8 -- "But promise, darling: No matter what happens to me, you'll go on to use same-sex curiosity to sell records. You must promise me!"
9 -- Well, hell. No wonder we won the big war!
10 -- "Look alive, men. The Nazis' disintegration ray is around here somewhere."
11 -- Everybody's talkin' 'bout the crazy, new tangible text messages!
12 -- Suddenly, Katy feared her latest tune, "I Kissed A Girl and I Liked It and Then I Went To Hell," was--perhaps--pushing the envelope a little too far!

Katy the Panderer. You know, trying to sell by being "controversial". Gimmicky, if you ask me.
Nice framed. Funny. Smart....okay, maybe not...especially with the Bi cycle one...
Not to mention she has the type of looks you wouldn't kick her out of bed for eating crackers,.....as the saying goes.
IT'S PRETTYYY GOOD.
I LIKE "THE FEARR" BETTER(:
