Paramore, Framed

Posted Mon Oct 26, 2009 2:35pm PDT by John Kordosh in Framed

Hello, readers, and welcome to Framed, the blog that's often been called America's best. We're still recovering from last week's installment, which, you may recall, was the funniest Framed ever written.

Boy, those sure were the days.

This week, we're welcoming emo/pop stars Paramore, whose Brand New Eyes album entered the charts at #2 earlier this month. Although their first video from that LP--"Ignorance"--is quite good, it's not really suitable for Framed. In its stead, we've gone back to "That's What You Get," off their Riot! album. The video tells the story of a boy and his girlfriend, who go through travails...travails, we tell you!...and their relationship seems to come to an unfortunate end. It's kind of a sad video.

Readers, do you think all meaningful relationships are doomed? Are they destined to be nothing but fodder for jaded bloggers who are drinking Sambuca at this very moment? And does Paramore share the blame? These are the thoughts that preoccupy us, and we welcome your keen insights.

Important blog note! It's time to once again repost some of the pithier comments you've been making, ponder them, and then reply in the straightforward, sincere way that's made us the go-to place for all that is straightforward and sincere about the internet!

We've been getting a lot of posts lately speculating about us--Framed!--which is absolutely the right thing to do. We encourage everyone to spend a lot of their time thinkin' 'bout us. That way, it's win-win!

And we'll see you again next week when we get back to the music that's made America better than all the other countries!

From the "Steve Perry, Framed:" "It was good to see Steve Perry once again. I am a big fan of ‘Journey!'"--Alesia.

Framed replies: Well, good for "you!"

From the "Blur, Framed:" "Do you have anything that consumes your time other than this. You must not be to happy/ toooo much time you must be lonely."--Yahoo! Music User

Framed replies: Among our many interesting hobbies, we enjoy watching The Weather Channel, interacting with Microsoft Word's delightfully helpful paper clip, and reading books. Currently, we're rereading our favorite, "By Gosh, By Golly" by George Bygumbo.

From the "Michael Jackson, Framed:" "Black or White was on the Dangerous album, not Bad."-Yahoo! Music User

"This is wrong. 'Black or White' was from the Dangerous album."--Sarah

Framed replies: And we'd like to apologize for this error on behalf of the editorial staff of Y! Music, who--to be fair!-are pretty darned good at making us change really funny captions.

From the "Creed, Framed:" "the captions sucked, but i love creed, welcome back dudes!"--Yahoo! Music User

Framed replies: And by "the captions" you meant "Creed's new song," right?

From the "Bob Dylan, Framed:" "As your fan club president, I am often asked: What does John do in his spare time? Well, we can only guess, but it looks like it is a toss up between Deisel Mechanic and torturer of small animals."--Yahoo! Music User

Framed replies: In real life, Framed runs "A*Lure," which is a combination bait shop and singles bar. And remember, ladies, it's free night crawlers every afternoon between 4:00 and 6:00 pm.

From the "Belle & Sebastian, Framed:" "What a job, do you need a partner???"--Barb

Framed replies: Darned right we do! Especially one who knows which songs are on which Michael Jackson albums.

1 -- "Last week's Framed?! Oh! My! God!"

2 -- "Well, I suppose it's possible that the wires are secretly conduits for malevolent, godless beings made of pure electricity. It does make sense."

3 -- "Now we'll see how hard primitive man rocked!"

4 -- Girls, if your guy is sleeping it off because he got completely blasted and picked up a really hot chick last night...well, heck, he is a guy, after all!

5 -- We fear you, Inhalo!

6 -- "Sure! Why not? Who cares if the drummer would like to look at girls' chests, too? He's just the drummer."

7 -- Once the molecules declared war on each other, anything went!

8 -- The removal of fleas and ticks through mutual grooming is just one of the many upsides of being a primate.

9 -- "Do you guys think we're being swallowed whole by a bubble whose motives are unknowable, or is it just me?"

10 -- "A 'swine flu vaccine?' Or the government implanting biochips in American citizens?!"

11 -- "Isn't it great that we've committed to each other and will spend the rest of our lives without ever being with anyone else? Isn't that great, honey? Honey??"

12 -- Once the president was allowed to "address" the nation's schoolchildren, the end result should've been obvious.
