Akon, one of the hottest R&B singers of the millennium, has seen some trouble lately. It all stems from an incident in the tiny Caribbean country of Trinidad & Tobago, where--at an 18-and-over club--he brought a girl onstage and engaged her in some raunchy dancing. When it was discovered that the girl was only 14 years old, the scandal was on, and Akon was attacked from many quarters. Notable was the vitriol of Fox News clowns Michelle Malkin and Bill O'Reilly, with O'Reilly referring to the singer as "Acorn."

In response to all this, the American-Senegalese singer has responded with his latest single, "Sorry, Blame It On Me," in which he "Takes this time out to apologize for things that I've done, things that haven't occurred yet and things that they don't want to take responsibility for." Yep, it's a pretty damned broad apology! And also surprisingly detailed, as when Akon sings "I'm sorry that it took so long to speak/But I was on tour with Gwen Stefani."  And indeed he was, on the niftily-titled "Sweet Escape Tour."

All of this, of course, makes for a winning song and a winning video.  So please enjoy Akon at his heartfelt best as we pull some stills you're sure to enjoy!
