High School Musical 2, Framed
One of the biggest musical events of the year was High School Musical 2, Disney's sequel to High School Musical. How a significant part of commercial pop music came to be directed at young teens and pre-teens is a subject for another blog, someone else's blog--we're only in this for the stills we can pull from the video. Well, those and the hard liquor.
But quite a peppy video it is! It features Zac Efrin, Vanessa Hudgens and Olesya Rulin--you may know them better as Troy, Gabriella, and Kelsi--performing "You Are The Music In Me," but saying, basically, "Hey, kids, let's put on a show!" You know, something like the Beatles used to do back in the old days. While the song itself is so innocuous as to be evil, the video--the real point of this exercise--is the sort of charming romp that plays well with the kids, God bless 'em.
So we're happy to present High School Musical 2 as this week's Framed. As always, we welcome your comments--we pore over all of them studiously and actually read the first 20 aloud to Toy-Bot, The Good Cat--so, please, post with impunity.

8 - "Damn. I wish they'd just concede that they are the music in them."
9- "Wait a minute. In another 30 years she'll look just like her mother!"
10 - "Why on Earth would he want a picture of my mother??"
11 - "I'd walk a million miles for one of your smiles, my mammy!"
12 - "Hmmm... Hannah Montana's congratulatory telegram seems vaguely insincere."
13 - Zac's stint at Ron Artest's Summer Camp paid off big time!
14 - And another All-Valley Karate Championship ends on a happy note!
15 - This would surely be the best meeting of Teenage Republicans Club yet!
