Wham!, Framed
Few bands or artists ever write an enduring Christmas song, but the Britpop duo Wham! managed it back in 1984, with "Last Christmas," a tune that is still being played seasonally.
The video to "Last Christmas" echoes the lyrics: George Michael had his heart broken. A Christmas later, we find him recovering at a ski chalet, when--incredibly, perhaps!--his ex turns up on the arm of fellow Whamster Andrew Ridgeley! Excruciatingly, frame by frame, we see George and his ex try to deal with the whole busted romance. Hilarity ensues.
It's a Christmas classic, indeed, and we're pleased to make it our choice for this week, as we all look forward to celebrating the season with friends and family. Our holiday best to all of our readers!
Important blog news! Well, we certainly took a smackdown from a bunch of you over our Casting Crowns blog a few weeks back. Many were upset, feeling that we'd mocked the band and/or their religion. A few of the best comments:

"I LIKE that this video made Framed. I think the frame captions are fun and will capture interest of people who DON'T listen to this kind of music and spark interest about a group not everyone has heard of." - kentiffakers

One of the best videos for Christmas or anytime! I have the video that includes this song & also the song 'Everything She Wants'. The long version of both. Yes, there is a bit more lyrics to 'Last Christmas'. But, they never play it on the radio. On either of those. Wonder why? Oh, well. Whatever we hear from this amazing man is great!
I always look forward to hearing that song & 'The Hannukah Song' by Adam Sandler each Christmas season.
Did I mention that hair???
