Kanye West, Framed

Posted Fri Jan 4, 2008 11:19am PST by John Kordosh in Framed

Hello, again, readers, and welcome back to Framed... The Blog That Likes You. We don't want to get too far into 2008 without recognizing a man who was perhaps last year's pre-eminent artist: Kanye West.

Last September, Kanye released his third album, Graduation, the same day that 50 Cent released his latest, Curtis, and country star Kenny Chesney released Just Who I Am: Poets And Pirates.  And, although this blog featured both 50 and Kenny in short order, we somehow overlooked Kanye, whose album was easily the best-selling of the three.

It's gnawed at us ever since, so we've decided to make amends by kicking off the year with Kanye's exceptional '04 video, "Jesus Walks."  There were actually three different versions of this video, but we're sticking with the one that was widely seen on MTV.

Compellingly, the video shows how faith can redeem even the lowest among us.  All three of the videos for "Jesus Walks" were regarded as controversial when released, but we'll let you be the judge.

And, as always, please let us know what you think!

1 - Another year, another blog for Y! Music.

2 - "So we all agree that Mitt Romney best represents our innermost hopes and dreams?"

3 - "Still think the collar looks gay?"

4 - "Well, thank God that George Bush cares about black people.  That's the silver lining."

5 - It pays to stay abreast of all sorts of videos!

6 - "But, yo! Romney be cool!"

7 - The hiatus of "New This Week" is no longer a mystery!

8 - Despite excellent end zone coverage, Moss still caught the Hail Mary!

9 - "Bought 957,000 copies of his own album in one week?  That'd be me!"

10 - "Flee! It's not the real 50! It's Mecha-50!"

11- "Register to vote, will you?!"

12 - A cameo appearance by the God of Framed ! Sweet!

13 - "And also, please, all the VMAs. All of them."

Now this song was the mantra, but we let it went by as though the name Jesus is not the name we all call on at lease like most times when we are down . talk to me?....

7. Mandros -
I love this blog so much I'm posting two comments! Are you referring to the actual statue of the Virgin Mary or the play involving a football? Either way, it's hilarious.

8. John Kordosh -
Well, I was thinking of the football play at the time, but I also thought it apt that the Hail Mary would take place in a church.

What's wrong with showing people the way to true salvation? There should be more videos that deal with real life issues like this one did. Jesus is real and your faith in him will surely lift you up anytime you're down and out he always remains with you no matter what. Jesus is good all the time!
