Tom Petty's 'Fever' Turns 20
It seems impossible but it was 20 years ago that Tom Petty boldly set out on his own, leaving the Heartbreakers behind for the fresh new sound with Traveling Wilbury brother, Jeff Lynne. Okay, almost all of the Heartbreakers played on the album in one way or another. And yes, longtime co-writer, Mike Campbell is credited on a couple songs. Oh and there's that Byrds cover "I'll Feel a Whole Lot Better" which is a reminder of the Heartbreaksers' influence. But aside from that, "Full Moon Fever" is solo all the way, baby. "Yeah, I'm freeeeeeeeeee....."
