Michael Jackson's Fans & Neighbors Collide at Neverland

Posted Fri Jul 3, 2009 10:34am PDT by Shawn Amos in GetBack

On July 1, one week after Michael Jackson's death, hundreds of his fans gathered at his Neverland Ranch to pay their respects. They were also hoping for a public viewing which didn't happen. That'll be Tuesday morning at Staples Center. Maybe. Nothing's ever for certain in the Jackson world.

From a 16 year old with her cat "Billie Jean" to an 86-year old grandmother, Jackson devotees from around the the world moonwalked and wept for their fallen King of Pop. I went to Neverland to to meet Jackson's army and Jackson's old neighbors in the town of Los Olivos. I even got on my toes in front of the gates in honor of the Gloved One. Here's a video from the day.

Why are we being inundated on the TV with stuff about Michael Jackson? Why not concentrate on important things such as the status and well-being of our troops in harm's way. The guy was a freak and killed himself with sedatives. Case closed!

6. sammie -
I think once he is buried most of the media commotion will die down. I too think we should be concerned with more important issue, but no matter how sick anyone thinks M.J. was he was a big influence in the music industry.

7. Brandon -

So if you were to die, you would rather your friends and family to be thinking about the war and be like, oh yeah she/hes dead dont worry about it she wouldnt want us to morne her/him, you are a complete ass.
Shame how some people are so inconsiderate. Michael Jackson was the ssssshhhhhhhiiiiii******. He was our Elvis of this generation and you cant even grasp that. Well, well your over there watching CNN ill be listeaning to my beats and thinking of one of the greatest artist and performers to walk this earth and bring us REAL entertainment.
Have funn thinking of all the negatives sirs.....

Why doesn't the family give the body to a taxidermist? With a minoe modification the jaw could move up and down. It could go on the planned tour and later tour theme parks. Sounds good to me.

Michael Jackson deserves all the attention he is receiving from the TV, radio and print news media. And yes some of it is redundant and overwhelming. The corporate entities that sponsor this type of media programming are taking advantage of Michael's demise, because it gives them an enormous opportunity to put their products in front of our mugs and they will continue to do so up until the time that Michael Jackson is buried. So stop the saying enough is enough move on etc., you guys have no control over when it will stop, oh actually you do, don't watch, read or listen to any of Michael's coverage it will eventually go away. Come August no one will really remember Michael Jackson unless the media brings it up again. So if you really miss Michael, go out an buy his music and video's or download them on the Internet from the likes of Rhapsody, Yahoo Music and other similar music download websites.

RIP Michael.
