Michael Jackson's Fans & Neighbors Collide at Neverland

Posted Fri Jul 3, 2009 10:34am PDT by Shawn Amos in GetBack

On July 1, one week after Michael Jackson's death, hundreds of his fans gathered at his Neverland Ranch to pay their respects. They were also hoping for a public viewing which didn't happen. That'll be Tuesday morning at Staples Center. Maybe. Nothing's ever for certain in the Jackson world.

From a 16 year old with her cat "Billie Jean" to an 86-year old grandmother, Jackson devotees from around the the world moonwalked and wept for their fallen King of Pop. I went to Neverland to to meet Jackson's army and Jackson's old neighbors in the town of Los Olivos. I even got on my toes in front of the gates in honor of the Gloved One. Here's a video from the day.

Im so sick of people complaining and judging Michael Jackson, h was a pop idol who was the sound of an era. He blurred the color lines that were so blatant during american society , does that not count for something? No one was complaining when he was wrongfully accused of child molestation , but when we pay tribute to one of the most influential figures in history let alone a fellow american who we lambasted and made his life hell, we are over-covering it. By the way heres the link for those idiot who still think he molested a childhttp://www.industryfinest.com/news/headlines/evan-chandler-says-micheal-jackson-never-touched-him.html hopefully this will shut you ignorant pigeons up

I have to say that I was quite shocked at my own reaction to michaels death. I was not a die hard fan at all and i was a teenager during the thriller era. Don't get me wrong, I really did like him. I have been very sad about his death and wasn't sure why it affected me that way. So I went back in time watching his videos and interveiws. Then I remembered....He was a great man! A loving, kind soul that did so much for so many! I am not talking about his music here, but about the humanitarian he was. I am angry at the people who act like time should not be wasted on him. That is riduculas. He helped so many and deserves great respect. Unfortunitly, It was all over shadowed by a false charge( and lets not forget he was found innocent). Yes, he was excentric, but who cares....He just wanted to save the world. May he rest in peace.

Miss you Michael. I'll try harder to change the Man in the Mirror. RIP

What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul?

All the media-hype and investigating in the world is not going to bring MJ back. Let the man rest in peace, and let his family and children grieve in peace. His children have never really had a normal life and deserve to be able to mourn their father in peace and not in the middle of a circus type atomsphere....it sounds like there will be enough of that concerning their custody. My heart breaks for his children...

ok...yahoo? music user....I have to ask dude....Do you have a split personality disorder or something?

89. shirleymcc_53@yahoo.com -
If his fans really loved him as much as they say they would honor him by respecting the fact that he was a very private person........his funeral is not being handled in a way that would honor him. Just my opinion...may he rest in peace and be remembered for being a music icon. Thank you for your music Michael.

What a waste of money when the whole economy is falling, falling, falling. The money used for this funeral circus would be better used to help the poor and orphaned children.

It is really sad that Michael Jackson has died, but the world has lost many stars lately. I think it is sad that Farah Faucett's death was so overshadowed by Michael's. At least her loved ones had the decency to honor her and not make such a production out of her death and funeral.

i will miss MJ as his big fan, am really disappointed on other people's bad comments about his death,. ow what a very shame to those who did'nt care about his BIG CONTRIBUTIONS TO AMERICA!!!!!!!!! . . REST IN PEACE MJ ,.we love u!

Michael's fans should get a grip on reality........it is tragic that he has passed on from this world, but he will continue to live through his music. Respect his family and especially his children......they have lost their father whom they loved very much. They don't need all the screaming, pushy fans and media in their faces as they are trying to mourn their father. May God bless the children!

94. shirleymcc_53@yahoo.com -
Michael Jackson was very important to his fans, but I think the way his fans and the media had treated him is what made him so ecentric. Long live his music and remember all the good things he has done for this world..........forget all the media hype, he is gone now. Let him RIP.

It.s a shame how death makes people ugly for something they had no help in getting, but always wants a cut of. May God be with his children who only know him as daddy.
