Phil Spector's Corcoran State Prison Dream Band

Posted Thu Jul 30, 2009 5:42pm PDT by Shawn Amos in GetBack

Apparently, Charles Manson wants Phil Spector to produce his next album. The two convicted murderers are prison mates at California's Corcoran State PrisonĀ  and have a lot of time on their hands. According to Spector's publicist, Hal Lifson, the locked-up producer was given a note from Charlie requesting his producing services. Spector joked to his publicist (as he was peeing on himself), "I used to get phone calls from John Lennon and Tina Turner and now it's Charles Manson calling, so he said, 'Go figure.'"

Sirhan Sirhan is also serving a life sentence at Corcoran. Between him, Manson, and Spector, they almost have a full band. With a few prison transfers, they could have a dream band. Here's my lineup:

Sirhan Sirhan - lead vocals
Charles Manson - drums
Unabomber - lead guitar
O.J. Simpson - bass
Phil Spector - producer
Bernie Madoff - band manager
Menendez Brothers - merchandise table

Here's Dr. Teeth & the Electric Mayhem for inspiration. I'm sure Phil will give it his own Maximum Security Wall of Sound.
