Bands Who Are Better Broken Up

VOTE: What band do you wish would reunite? Here's our pick.
Still, we've heard it before. The endless procession of bands saying "never again," citing "irreconcilable differences" only to hit the road one (or more) times when the paycheck gets big enough. Seems that no one says goodbye for good (except the Band; The Last Waltz really was the last waltz — except when they got back together a few years later. At least Robbie Robertson kept his word).
Here are five bands who couldn't stay apart, and evidence of why they should.
Van Halen
After burning through every other lead singer imaginable, I guess there was no other choice but to call up Diamond Dave again. Although, with Michael Anthony booted out of the band, it's not quite like the good old days. Here they are experiencing a first class train wreck playing their classic "Jump."
The Pixies
Unlike most reunions, the Pixies
sounded good when they got back together. Great on most nights. And at
least they were honest about it. They wanted the money. After years of
seeing other bands rip off their sound and get paid better, they
deserved it. Plus, how much could David Lovering have made as a
magician?
Stone Temple Pilots
The ultimate co-dependant rock
family. The DeLeo brothers and their wayward step-brother Scott Weiland
pretending like all those drug busts and and Velvet Revolver gigs never
happened.
The Who
Does anyone remember that the Who had their first farewell tour in 1982? Twenty-six years and two original members later. . . It's a long goodbye.
Simon & Garfunkel
You gotta love the irony of two guys who can barely look at each other calling their reunion tour "Old Friends."

However, this article really blows. The writing was silly and contradictory.
I have not prob w/ Van Halen or the Police, both of which I saw and really enjoyed.
Talking Heads reunion - it'll never happen. Years after the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame, David Byrne flatly said that he would never, EVER reunite with the Heads ever again. C'est la vie.
Van Halen reunion was doomed right from the start. Wolfgang should stop touring and go back to school. He probably missed the senior prom already. I'm sorry, but I rather see Sammy and Michael perform than to see big-mouthed Roth acting like a fool onstage. I don't care what y'all think or say. It's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.
As for the Police, I'm glad they've reunited for one more round - just like Genesis. Now we'll all die happy.
The Who: give them a break. We know John and Keith are no longer here, but at least we have Pete and Roger. Even in their '60's they can still rock!
