Apparently NOT, mixter102!! LOL I do believe you're confusing a messiah complex with charisma!! Which is a RARE personal quality attributed to those who arouse fervent popular devotion and enthusiam.

The out of control ego / conceit is also mistaken for confidence....belief in one's self and one's powers and abilities.

There are optimists...pessimists...and then, there are realists.

I think Bono's correct with his quote. DUDE, you're right too...he does look like popeye! LOL

The majority of music that Bono has performed at his best is political. He has passion in his voice, that's what is unique about him. "A beautiful day" to "Bloody Sunday". His sardonic humor in "Across the Universe". He sat down with shades on w/Bush for Victims of Aids in Africa. That's why he's attractive to people. He tries to use his celebrity for a cause. He's not the greatest rocker, singer but he's got the "it factor" of a legend.
