Cassie Says Semi-Nude Photos Were Stolen
Wednesday night pop singer Cassie joined the club, the one that includes celebs with nude (full or partially) photos/videos leaked on the internet.
While it is surprising to see her topless in her self-photographed pictures posted on RapRadar.com, her nonchalant reaction is equally as interesting.
She dismissed being exposed as no big deal Wednesday in an
11 p.m. PST message on her Twitter page.
"IT SEEMS THAT SOMEONE HAS HACKED INTO MY COMPUTER," Cassie tweeted. "THAT'S REAL FOUL AND EVIL. NOW STOP ACTING LIKE YOU HAVEN'T SEEN A [BREAST] BEFORE."
Several hours later, Cassie explained that the photos were never meant to be released publicly. "These photos were obviously never intended for the world to see," Cassie said in a statement on her website, lovecassie.com. "[I]t's sad that people would really take time to steal and post them, it's just evil."
Her note also implied that people are overreacting to seeing her undressed. "Mine weren't the first you've seen and they won't be the last," she wrote. "[P]eople need to grow up, let's move on. Thank you."
Cassie is signed to Sean "Diddy" Combs' Bad Boy
Entertainment and has been rumored to be dating him. Diddy has not tweeted
about the incident, but did ask his followers to be positive.
"Let's be great today," Diddy wrote Thursday. "Let's beat negativity by being positive!!! Evil will not prevail!!! WE WILL WIN TODAY!!!! Let's go!!!!""
If grown folks want to take nude photographs of themselves, it is their choice. But when semi-nude photos of famous people are leaked, I often wonder whether it was by accident or intentionally.
It would be indecent to suggest that Cassie leaked these herself. So I won't. I don't know what happened.
But I was just thinking about Kim Kardashian, Ray J, Paris
Hilton, and others whose careers spiked after their explicit images hit
cyberspace.
Janet Jackson's career got rocky after her Super Bowl scandal. But she was exposed during a primetime family-oriented event that clearly offended the masses.
In other cases, there's almost no need for damage control.
That energy should instead be put into the prepping for the launch of the next product. ‘Cause folks, the viral marketing has already begun.
I'm not saying that this is the case with Cassie.
But she'd better not do like Janet and release a new single tomorrow. Then, she'd be cold busted.
Thursday Cassie's most recent single "Must Be Love" featuring Diddy was No. 68 at Urban radio. Let's see if it moves up.
Here self-titled debut album was released in 2006 and included the hit "Me & U."

P.S. Celebs need to get off themselves. No one care about sex tapes or nude photos. They portray themselves as soft porn posers in their everyday celeb life anyway.
