New Boyz: I Know, I'm A Jerk Too
They remind me of both Digital Underground and Pharcyde. I
first heard the song when watching a YouTube clip of Diddy's son Christian
dancing. The kid can dance, but the track behind him is what caught my
attention.
After hearing the song blow up on KPWR 106 in Los Angeles, I did a little research to track down the guys. Ironically, they had just been picked up by Asylum.
My folks at Asylum invited to their half time show at Los Angeles' University High School last month. They were on a tour with KPWR, performing 8-minute half time sets at celebrity basketball games KPWR hosted with high schools around the city.
I was impressed by how "ready" these young dudes are. They
hit the court and effortlessly worked the crowd that already knew and loved
their song that has frequently topped KPWR's Top 7 at 7 countdown.

Just a note about the New Boyz: Over on YouTube, there's a kid from San Diego who has been putting out videos of himself and his friends dancing to the song. That's where I first heard of them and I'm on the East Coast. Anyway, check out "JinsingHR" 's channel for some of his videos. They're pretty nice.
