Britney: I'm N Luv Wit A Stripper

Posted Fri Oct 5, 2007 5:34am PDT by Billy Johnson, Jr. in Hip-Hop Media Training

The "I'm N Luv Wit A Stripper" concept worked so much better last year when T-Pain did it. But guess nobody told Britney Spears that it probably wasn't a good idea to release her own stripper video the same week a court judge gave sole custody of her two small children to the first runner-up in the Deadbeat Dad contest (watch video).

I'm sure K-Fed was the most surprised when he found out that the judge awarded the kids to him. What kind of court would make this decision? People's Court? Anybody got Macaulay Culkin's number? Maybe he can tellĀ 2 year-old Sean Preston and 1 year-old Jayden James how he got himself emancipated from his parents when he was 14. These poor kids would do better in the hands of Social Services.

Actually, I'm digging the "Gimme More" song. But man. How many ways can Britney kill the life of an otherwise good track?

First, she offers her worst lip sync ever on the Video Music Awards last month. And after getting trashed in the media for weeks, she releases this video. This is her make good.

How about this concept: A blonde Britney and a couple girlfriends go to a local strip club and watch a brunette Britney and a couple girlfriends stripping. To top it off, the tape quality is so bad, it looks like it was filmed on a camcorder.

The timing of the release of this video feels like a response to everything that has been happening in her life over the last several years. It's like a middle finger to the world. A figurative "it's Britney b****" as she says in the intro of the song.

But while these flippant reactions sometimes work at getting fans riled up, in this case it's backfiring. Don't do like Amy, Britney. Go back to rehab and stay there until you get it together. I'll make you a mixtape with Mary J's "No More Drama," Eminem's "Lose Yourself," and even Michael Jackson's "Leave Me Alone." Put it on repeat, and the next time Timbaland and Justin offer to help revive your career, just say, "Yes."

Even though she could have done a little bit more with the video, she still looks good. The song is tight and i'll most likely get this album since it is receiving good reviews. But I still suggest rehab or maybe a psychiatrist.
