Michael Jackson Death Deemed Homicide By Coroner
I felt uneasy about Michael Jackson's death and wondered what role the media scrutiny played in his demise. I was saddened by his struggles with his image, allegations of child molestation, even insomnia.
But Monday's news that Michael's death was considered a
homicide by the Los Angeles
County coroner makes me feel worse. It now makes sense why he performed so well in the
This Is It tour rehearsal footage taped just before he died. Basically,
according to a Los
Angeles Times report, his death could have been avoided.
According to a search warrant affidavit reviewed by the Los Angeles Times, the day Michael died, Dr. Conrad Murray gave him a series of sedatives, including a lethal dose of propofol.
Even a person without an education in medicine would consider suspect the dosages of medicine Murray administered to Michael.
According to the affidavit, not only had Murray been giving Michael propofol every night for six weeks, he gave Michael a series of drugs the morning he died.
At 1:30 a.m., Murray gave Michael valium. At 2 a.m., he injected him with lorazepam, and, at 3 a.m., Murray administered midzaloam. None of these medicines sedated Michael, so over the next few hours, Murrary continued to give him additional drugs.
The dosage instructions for basic over-the-counter drugs
like Tylenol or Robitussin direct users to take the medicine every four hours.
When I had surgery on my ankle last year, I asked my doctor if I could take my
pain medicine more frequently than every four hours, and he told me, "No."
What was Murray thinking, giving Michael these potent medicines in 30 minute intervals?
By 10:40 a.m. the morning of Michael's death, Murray gave him propofol, which ultimately killed him.
I find it interesting that soon after Michael's passing, his former nurse Cherilyn Lee spoke to the media, explaining that she advised him against taking diprivan (propofol) and doing so from home.
I wonder why it was obvious to a nurse that taking this medicine could be deadly, though Murray saw fit to administer it.
In the affidavit, Murray
claims that Michael demanded the drug. And Lee maintained Michael's adamancy as
well.
But Murray should not have complied.
A self-inflicted overdose is bad enough. But a physician-assisted overdose is shameful and has to be a violation of their code of ethics.
Considering Murray's reported financial troubles, it appears as if he was more concerned with his $150,000 per month salary than Michael's well being.
It is unfortunate that Michael did not get the intervention he needed to guide him back on track.
Michael died on June 25 after experiencing a heart attack.
His family is reportedly considering filing a wrongful-death suit.

toward it was Michaels fault. His doctor warned him about the
drugs, and I'm sure that the doctor felt sorry for Michael and
was with him with drugs that would counteract what he gave Michael. Yes, the doctor could have said no, I just don't know
what Michael would have done. I've had insomnia and it is
horrible, it's like torture. I love Michael and always will. He
had some demons, issues and he did spiral out of control.
I will always remember him as a loving man and a genius.
I hope he is at peace now, that is my prayer.
The medications that Michael received are BEYOND the dosis that would be prescribed for a horse. Sorry, I will NEVER accept the theory that he had to satisfy Michael to keep his 150000 dollars salary. Give me the proof that MJ could not be sedated, then. This Doctor have been paid by someone who wanted to get rid of Michael, why am I the only one clearly sensing this? LAPD did a fantastic job but they must push Murray to admit and protect him too because he will be then in danger. I do not want someone out there starting to get rid of our Black Entertainers by bribing the people they trust more... I am enraged, nothing had prepared me to hear such an horrigfing tale of dis-huminisation;
What this Black Doctor (I am Black too) did to MJ is more disguting than nazism. There is more behind;
my parents were wondering y he was ok during his tour..
his death was tragic.. :(
I've moved on. Why haven't you?
