Chris Brown Does Not Seem Fazed By Sentence
I wasn't expecting to feel so cynical about Chris Brown's formal sentencing. There were no planned surprises.
In June, a Los Angeles judge determined that Chris would be sentenced to five years probation, 180 days of community labor, a course on domestic abuse and to stay at least 100 yards away from Rihanna.
All of those things were still in place, Tuesday, more than two months after the ruling.
What bothers me is the attitude that Chris Brown and Rihanna seemed to have since the incident took place in February.
I have met and interviewed Rihanna and Chris Brown, but I don't proclaim to know them. I have not been hanging out with them. They have not confided in me. My opinions are based on how they have presented themselves in the public since the beating.
I don't think they take the law seriously.
After Chris was ordered in June to stay 100 yards away from Rihanna, the two have been rumored on more than one occasion to have violated that order.
Instead of staying out of the limelight, the weekend before Chris' original sentencing date, he made his first public performance appearance, as a surprise guest during Lil' Wayne's fittingly titled Most Wanted Tour when it made a stop in Chris's Virginia hometown.
There's the "I ain't a monster" YouTube video Chris released in May.
And what about all the Chris Brown leaked songs? These songs were supposedly old yet they coincidentally portray a reformed Chris singing "[It's] Not My Fault" and revealing that he is a "Changed Man."
The fact that Chris and Rihanna's disagreement escalated to a physical altercation is horrible. But considering that Rihanna was beaten so badly that she was left bloodied and bruised, and felt the need to call the police, means that things got way out of control.
These two young adults clearly weren't mature enough seven months ago to be in this relationship, and it does not appear that they have matured much since.
It is also evident by Rihanna's request (via her attorney) that the stay-away order be dropped.
Give me a break.
Chris Brown is lucky he is not in jail.
And Rihanna's belief that a stay away order is not necessary only implies that she needs to take a course of domestic abuse herself.

Do you guys know the meaning of a woman beater- a person who contiues to beat on woman. this is his first time. yall have to see if he does it again and again then you could say he is a women beater. And as for rihanna No one know what really happen. they had other dispute and one on them rihanna slapped the mess out of chris brown she is not innocent either she put her
hands on that man he probably got tired of her hitting him she should keep her hands to herself too it's not fear. she lucky he didn't knocked her ass out. woman or man dont hit anybody if you dont want to get hit back. woman think cause they are female they could get away with it men get tired of that. They dont want to be no punk just because you not suppose to hit a woman Females take advantage of that. let that young boy live he still have alot to learn. If they gave R kelly another chance and he was pissing on young girls why everyone can't give chris another chance too no one is perfect
