Chris Brown Apologizes In New Song 'Crawl'

Posted Wed Oct 21, 2009 1:19pm PDT by Billy Johnson, Jr. in Hip-Hop Media Training

Chris Brown debuted a new song on Big Boy's Neighborhood morning show Wednesday. The song, "Crawl," comes just one day after Rihanna released "Russian Roulette" as her first record since her February 8 altercation with Chris.

In "Crawl," Chris accepts the blame for a relationship gone awry and asks his unnamed lover for a second chance.

"I'm the one that one that lost the view
Everybody says were' through
I hope you haven't said it too"

Chris Brown has scored hits with other slow jams, "Say Goodbye" and "Take You Down," but "Crawl" is an even stronger record. Potential backlash from Chris' assault on Rihanna is the only thing that could stop this song from topping the charts.

Chris told Big Boy that the song was written to "bring people back to the essence of happiness." "Before you can run and walk and all that stuff, you have to crawl," Chris said. "So why don't we crawl back to love?"

Even though I like the song, I find the timing of its release to be strategic.

Last month, Chris released another song, the dance track "I Can Transform Ya." But, even before the video for the song surfaced, Chris has already moved on.

Literally, the day after Rihanna released the emotionally unstable "Russian Roulette" and earned some sympathy, Chris seemingly one ups her, responding with a remorseful record.

He doesn't care about her. He only did this song so all his idiot fans could feel better about supporting a [profane] that enjoys beating women!

hey guys...there's no need to bash the poor guy. he's getting what he deserved. i think he realizes he messed up and his life is gonna suck cuz of it. you dont have to like him to like his music. so guys just enjoy the song and stop starting drama on the internet. k? i think he already get's enough crap from people. if you dont like him do so silently. i dont like him either but ima not sit there and bash him for his mistake. Rhianna is better off without him so just dont stress bout it. :) peace out Ya'll!!!! :)

Everyone makes mistakes in life and hitting Rihanna was his. He is paying the price. What I don't understand is how stuff like this happens everyday to women and just because he is in the entertainment buisness that got to put him on blast and make him seem like the worst guy on the face of the planet. He apologized to her and there is nothing more he can do so lets just drop the subject.

yes no man should be able to lay a hand on a female. but let's remember that there were two people involved and as i know it she is not completely innocent either. let's just all move on and let them do their thing. if rihanna can move on and try to get over this let's all do the same. chris brown is talented. if we can forgive other stars for doing equally or more disturbing things why can't we forgive him?

I like both songs. I think Chris Brown needs another chance i mean he is still human

As someone who struggles with anger management, I can tell you that losing control like he did causes serious mental anguish. Who are we to say if he feels bad or not?! This is a beautiful song, as is Rhianna's. Let's be thankful that at least a few good things could come out of the horrible event that took place.

I LIKE THIS SONG THERE'S NO OVER THINKING THE REASON WHY HE WROTE THIS. IT'S JUST THAT SIMPLE I LIKE THE SONG. AND IF HE STILL LOVES HER OR SHE STILL HIM THEN THAT'S FINE PEOPLE GO THROUGH THINGS EVEN ABUSE WHEN THINGS IN THEIR HEAD OR ENVIRONMENT AREN'T GOING RIGHT. SO GOD SAID FORGIVE AND MOVE ON.

You know what?? I sit here and listen to some of the comments I hear people leavin, and can't help but think to myself.. Didn't God teach people that forgiveness is the answer to growing from a situation. If Rihanna accepts the fact that what happened happened, and Chris understand that what he did was wrong, and they are both being punished for it.. Him a hell of alot more than her.. I would seriously let this [profane] go.. We all know how being in a relationship can be.. To me in a way, its Kharma as crazy as this is going to sound... They tried and tried keeping there relationship out of the public for three years straight, and in the fouth year, the lying to the public blew up in there face, and that was not at all what either one wanted.. Imagine being in Love with the person your with right now, you smack his phone out of his hand at eighty some miles an hour on the interstate, because you assume its some girl trying to get on him, and almost cause the both of you to lose your life in an accident, and he smacks you for it, only after you hit him several times first. And thats it, you see eachother one more time for the next five years.... One more time at some other dudes mansion.. He would feel like he just transformed your life, and you would be thinking about how a life with him is like playing Russian Roulette too!! SO go on with your second grader [profane]... But this [profane] happens everyday between both men and woman!!
