Kanye Proves "Stronger" Than The Paparazzi

Posted Thu Sep 11, 2008 12:59pm PDT by Billy Johnson, Jr. in Hip-Hop Media Training

I'm not sure who I dislike more the paparazzi or Kanye West.

That's not true. I do know the answer. It's Kanye.

The loud-mouth, Grammy Award winning rapper and producer was arrested at the Los Angeles International Airport Thursday morning after getting into an altercation with a photographer and TMZ cameraman. Kanye is being accused of vandalism for breaking a camera valued at $10,000.

After viewing the clips, my suspicions that Kanye did get out of hand were confirmed.

You can see Kanye, in a gray hooded sweatshirt, arguing with the photographer while yelling, "I took it. I took it." He then smashes the camera on the ground. My favorite part of the clip occurs next, when he simply resumes his place in line with his entourage in tow. I'm sure he feels his actions were justified.

In a funny interview with the TMZ cameraman, he gives his account for what happened and stressed that he would be scared to run into Kanye again, especially if there are no cameras around.

I can imagine how annoying it must be to have a paparazzi following you around all the time, taking pictures of you against your will. I think the paparazzi are often times indecent.

But there's no excuse for Kanye's behavior. Dealing with the paparazzi comes with the celebrity. Kanye needs to get a grip. He complains at every award show that he's shunned that he doesn't get his props. He claims that he's underrated. He wants to control the attention. He should know by now that that's not how it works.

He will probably end up with a fine that will mean nothing to him.

I'm thinking of a better punishment.

You want to punish Kanye so you post a video for a single off his newest album.....

ok--first of all kanye should be used to all of the paparazzi follwowing him around, its not like he just became famous. 2nd..the paps do get a little out of control sometimes but breaking a $10,000 piece of equipment is a tad out of hand. he is just grumpy because he once again left an awards show with no trophy. boo hoo.

kanye why dont you give Syleena Johnson the credit she deserves, acknowledge her, help her out, get back to her when she calls, put her on some of your shows, and you say you are shunned, she has been shunned and she is underated. she made your song when it all falls down, but what have you done for her lately. we as black artist dont help each other. you complain all the time about being left out or not given your props, so why do you do the same thing to her. Syleena Johnson is beautiful, great singer and writer. Thank God for your success and help others, Pay it forward sir. God Bless You

Obama or Die...Obama or Die!!! What an idiot Kanye is! Freak!

Okay first of all yes, Celebrities take the risk of having their picture taken and yes this is a price they pay for being famous. However, the paps also take the risk of having someone get pissed off and knock the Sh*it out of them or break a camera because they dont want their picture taken that is also a price that they have to pay. . This guy is actually lucky that his camera was the only thing that got broken. Sadly due to poor legislation California Law does not protect the privacy of celebrities or anyone for that matter. This leaves people to have to fend for themselves and protect their own GOD given rights. Maybe if more incidents like this occur our lazy government will do something to change it. Just imagine if you hopped off of a plane from a long flight, and probably a tiring business trip before hand only to someone taking pictures inches away from you, how pissed off would you be. Kanye will walk. He will still be rich. He will still be able to do pretty much whatever he wants. He will still be rich, and you all will still complain from behind your computers. Did I say he'll still be rich?? Good because when it comes to justice we all know thats really all that matters!!!!! HA HA HA HA HA!!!! FREE KANYE!!!!

Screw you paparazzi! I hope all your cameras get broken. Bunch of losers.

What a wonderful blog. I agree totally and I hate KANYE the MOST!!!!
Both are out of control and think the Paparazzi must keep their distance and should stay out of a person's immediate personal space.
If they are in that space then their camera or nose should be broken without legal consequences.

13. Ldy S -
sure its part of a celebs job but no need to be an a$$. i am not a kayne fan but he is a person that needs personal space and privacy and doesn't need a jerk with a camera in his face shouting at him. kayne probably asked to be left alone first and was egged on and the guy what was coming to him.

14. KD -
Who cares. Sorry he got a felony for NOTHING.

15. swampfoxcws -
There are two excuses....
#1 - He's nobody.
#2 - He's an idiot thug

16. Chad -
Kanye SUCKS and always will he had a decent album and all of a sudden he thinks he is royalty in the biz. He needs to realize karma comes back around he made it out of a horrible accident once, but they way he is living and acting. Its only a matter of time.

17. BeeserStl -
#10 - Kayne is an idiot and probably voting for Obama so what does that say???

18. Alenna -
Kayne lost his mother in a bad way. Noone knows the pressure that he's facing. Tbe
media had the nerve to disclose Kayne's mother breathing difficultly and her last
words before she passed away. When does the
media stop. Maybe Kayne handled it wrong, maybe not, I was not there to make that call.
However, the camera man should be afraid to walk up on somebody that does not want any
pictures taken of him or her. Maybe the loss
of his $10,000 camera can give him a bigger picture of Kayne lossing his mom (priceless)
who happened to be his manager and I believe best friend. Let this be a lesson to the media. Sometimes you just need to leave people alone and give them their privacy, even if they are a celebrity. This same photographer would have gotten photos of Kayne and Lord know what he would have done with them. To Bill, stop hating and have a little more compassion on a brother. I hate the fact that people provoke other people and then when someone retaliates the victim becomes the perpretator. Antwoine Fisher is a good movie that suggests that there are a lot of bad people that go around picking fights with folk minding their own business. Kayne, keep your head up brother and I am praying for you. I know the loss of your mother was hard. People are so insensitive, but the Lord loves you and so do I.

Peace and Blessings,

Alenna

when people make it big in the entertainment world, they seem to forget that it is the people that makes them famous, we buy their records, watch their movies, we spend for ourselves, but it also helps them. they roll their eyes, be rude, don`t speak when spoken too, they forget that they where once a fan of someone. So why be RUDE when you can be HUMBLE AND never forget that a fan was once you. Be it cameraman paparrizi etc... stop being so rude to people period. It is easier to be nice and calm at all times.
