Eminem's Palin Spoof Condemned By Bill O'Reilly

Posted Thu Apr 9, 2009 4:04pm PDT by Billy Johnson, Jr. in Hip-Hop Media Training

Eminen's new video "We Made You" mocks women who have dominated the news in the last year. Set up as a spoof of the Bret Michaels reality show Rock Of Love, Em pokes fun of Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, Kim Kardashian, Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Aniston, Amy Winehouse, Ellen DeGeneres and Sarah Palin.

Though critics can find fault with all of the portrayals, The O'Reilly Factor host Bill O'Reilly defends just one of the women-Sarah Palin, the Alaska Governor who was the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate.

O'Reilly, a longtime hip-hop antagonist, calls Eminem's depiction of Palin crude. A Palin lookalike dressed in a low cut bustier and business suit sits atop of an office desk, flirting with a shirtless Eminem posing as Palin's husband.

O'Reilly is upset the media has not condemned Em for the video. "Eminem is obviously on an obscene rant about Sarah Palin," O'Reilly says in Wednesday's broadcast. "Totally obscene. Totally inappropriate. Nothing good about it."

O'Reilly feels that political analysts for Media Matters, The New York Times, Los Angeles Times and NBC should have called Eminem to task for his treatment of Palin.

"The video means nothing," O'Reilly says. "It plays before kids who are confused. But the hypocrisy and the dishonesty of the media does mean something in this country. It is out of control and is demonstrable by this."

I know that O'Reilly dishes politics, is a Palin supporter, and wants to blast other media outlets for letting Eminem's political dig slip through the cracks. It is an interesting perspective. However, if he finds offensive and "crude" Eminem's implication that former beauty queen Palin is a sex symbol, I wonder if O'Reilly only feels that way because she is a politician?

What about the video's insensitive and mocking depictions of Amy Winehouse, Jessica Simpson, Ellen DeGeneres, Kim Kardashian and Lindsay Lohan? Are those okay?

Like it or not, "We Made You" is Eminem's typical satire. In my opinion, Tina Fey's pre-election Palin impressions on Saturday Night Live were much more damaging to Palin's image than this Eminem video.

You guys are the jokes. Seriously. EVERYONE is entitled to their own opinions so O'Reilly can say what he wants about Eminem's video just like Eminem can make the video in the first place. Why doesn't everyone quit being so hypocritical and just shut up and quit whining for once?? What a bunch of babies.

O reilly is a jackass! Alot of the stuff he does is offensive, and i love it!!!! He doesn't despise it because its obscene, it's because he's making fun of a politician. Frickin' egomaniac
I never seen someone so afraid to laugh in my life, uptight freak

44. Mohammed -
The reason people aren't speaking out against this is because nobody takes Eminem seriously.

I can't stand that new song and video by Eminem. I think he's alright like on "lose yourself" and his other serious songs but this one is just GARBAGE!!!!

46. amanda -
o'reilly must be gay if he doesnt think palin is hot! thats all eminem was portraying was her hotness.

47. Sami -
I'm wondering if anyone who has commented on here is female?? I can't believe any woman would think that this video is ok. Are you kidding? It's women who think this is 'funny' who set the entire female race back years. Maybe all us 'girls' should just go back to being the little woman who stays at home having babies and doing what we're told. Why does anyone think it was 'ok' when Tina Fey did this same kind of hate rant against Sarah Palin?? Just because the leftist media didn't say anything about it? Do we now base all our opinions on what the media tells us we should think? I'm afraid this country has no idea what they've signed on for. Let's see how 'elated' everyone is in a couple more years...

Who care what Bill O'Reilly thinks or says....he's a has-been hack who doesn't have a "clue" about life in the real-world.

SHUT your MOUTH, Bill O'Reilly...and do EVERYONE a favor....go away....disappear....GET LOST....

51. EmilyS -
And if you can't spell please don't make a bigger joke of yourself by posting....it's O'Reilly and plenty of people listen to him. More people listen to him than to Eminem I hate to break it to you juveniles. Number one News show. That's all I have to say. Have a good one HA HA HA HA HA!

You all must be 17 or 18 year old,O'rilley has a right to speak its a talk show just like enemy has a right to portray sarah that way, just like i have the right to say Obama is going to be the worst president in American history!

This waw too funny, and O'Reilly should get over himself. It's a joke. Why isn't he pissed about all the other women in this video, poor Sara. Everyone is "scared" of her....don't they know that we're not scared, I personally find her antics hilarious.

But hey we fear her and O'Reilly thinks he's god....LOL

This is what happens when you put yourself in the public eye. I think Eminem does this because he wants to make people laugh (entertainment) and some of the women that he makes fun of help create the criticism for themselves.

Palin is discusting in evey way...She is a pinhead governor of the most sparsley populated state in the country. How can a person born in raised way the hell out there posibly relate to the wants and needs of the rest of us? Besides, Palin has already shown what a corrupt money sucking vampire she is...Never gonna happen, sorry dumbasses.

You know what I find funny is how most of the responses on here are from the left and you guys are jokes just like this want to be singer/rapper. You all are the ones that are going to let this country fall all to pieces and in 2,3,4,5 years from now you will still be blaming someone else for the problems. You sound like a room full of Barney Franks " It's not my fault. It IS NOT MY FAULT" What a joke you are.

I'm curious as to what would happen if eminem went after obama. Would the left attack him for racism. Why is it ok to attack the right but as soon as you say something bad about obama or any of the leftist nuts, you get attacked? Why is that?

I hope obama fails btw. =-)

Have a great day lefty's.

Just My Opinion:
Defend all of those who were spoofed... or none of them.. everything offends "someone" these days... it is getting tiring to say the least. It is time the people of our wonderful country come together, pull together and stop making everything a complaint (especially with regard to politics) and learn to laugh a little. It took us a long time to get into the mess that we are in, and we are not coming out of it overnight... Maybe it is our fault.. we are all so spoiled.

59. jon -
did he say no one over 25 listen to eminem, im 31 and i know a ton of people that listen to em, not one that listen's to mr. bill, i didnt vote for obama, bill, snl hurt sarah a lot worse than eminem

I am so sick of this thug. His music is vulgar and childish. Anyone who enjoys his music is a fool.

Just like the left wing not to condem EMinem because he is making fun of a conservative. If he would have said something about Mrs. Clinton the media would have murdered him.

The best thing for us as americans is to not buy people like eminem and some of the other thugs albums. If they made music with some kind of meaning it would actually be worth listening to.
