We Have A Winner!

Posted Wed Nov 14, 2007 11:45am PST by Lyndsey Parker in Led Zeppelin's Return Flight

We know it was hard to purchase Led Zeppelin reunion tickets through the O2 Arena website. If you were one of the 20 million or so Zepheads who crashed O2's server, we feel your pain.

But for Samantha Claybough of Hammond, Indiana, all is not lost! Because she just won our sweepstakes to see Zeppelin perform at the Ahmet Ertegun Tribute show, December 10 at the O2 Arena in London.

Samantha has won the Zeppelin travel experience of a lifetime, including:

--two tickets to the Zeppelin show
--two coach-class roundtrip flights to London
--two nights in a London hotel
--transportation to and from the airport and concert
--two CD copies each of Led Zeppelin Mothership and the Song Remains The Same soundtrack
--$300 in fun money

And, best of all: She and a guest will attend a private dress rehearsal the day before the show.

(Omigod! WHY weren't Yahoo! employees eligible to enter? Hey Samantha, have you found someone to go with you yet?)

Congrats to Samantha--be sure to post your own congratulations (or bitter, jealous laments) below...

I was 12 when I first heard Led Zeppelin in Korea,it was 1973. I fell in love with the music, Page especially, grew up listening and fantacizing about him. Now I am 47 and a college prof. I still love looking at the pictures of young Page, but I am so sad to see his face wrinked and old... I wish they got rid of his pictures after 50..

My only goal in life has ever been to live in seclusion with Jimmy Page. I must meet the man and then my life will be complete.

Saw them twice......in 1974 at Three Rivers Stadium....did the Houses of the Holy tour and also in 1975 at Civic Arena, both in Pittsburgh. Will never forget. FANTASTIC both times.

Of all the great bands to come out of the UK not one of them epitomizes rock & roll like Led Zepplin.

I saw Led Zeppelin in N.Y. in the 70's. It was by far the best concert I have ever been to. Zeppelin is the best rock band of all time and probably always will be. No band comes close. I'd love to see them again.

We used to go to their concerts in the 70's,telling my age now.But we used to sneek in wiskey, pills, and herb.It was farout!!!!We would all get in the van and drive sometimes 6 or 7 hundred miles to get to the show, half the fun was getting there. It's a drag we had to grow up, LOL.............

I hope like so many that I win those tickets but of course the odds are staggering.I was to see LZ as my first concert, but tragically John Bonham died shortly after the ticket sales for my area were announced.I instead saw Rush on their Moving Pictures tour in Seattle when I was 11 years old which was awesome but not exactly the same as seeing the mighty Zepp.

Led has lent mysticism, rock and roll and deep, deep meaningfulness in its music. The innovations, the lyrics....God, what has happened since then? I can name a Zeppelin tune in 1 bar. Who else can you say that about?

The only hard rock band that ever mattered.....
