Jimmy Page & John Paul Jones: The 2007 Interview

Posted Fri Nov 30, 2007 2:46pm PST by Dave DiMartino in Led Zeppelin's Return Flight

On Friday, Nov. 16th, Y! Music was lucky enough to get an audience with Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones.

In excellent form, both very warm and friendly, the pair detailed the events leading up to the planned Dec. 10th reunion concert and offered their one-of-a-kind perspective on being lifelong members of this very phenomenal band.

We at Y! Music thank Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, and of course their label for making this very exclusive interview possible. We hope you're one of the lucky people who actually get to witness December's performance.

Enjoy!

My favorite song is "Over The Hills and Far Away." It has to be the most beautiful love song I've ever heard...just lovely! I remember I made up my own song when I was a young girl that went: "Over the hill, to the creek, into the forest full of treats!"

I had tickets for a show for Zeppelin's world tour before John bonham died and it was cancelled. I was a big fan for years and it was a real drag that I couldn't see them. They inspired so many bands for decades to come and anyone who gets into heavy duty Rock N' Roll knows the impact they had. Hey "garytpiaa", it was a big deal.

Garytpiaa, if you are not a Zeppelin fan, why are you here listening to their interview? Led Zep has and will forever leave their footprint of rock & roll. If you don't like them, keep it to yourself, those of us who are fans have waited decades for this reunion.

hey zep fans, save your money till the rolling stones next tour,if you heard 1 zep song you heard them all.when was the last time they recorded a new cd? shows how much they really care about there fans, talk about touring for the money.they gotta be kidding.atleast I hope they are!!!!!

Rolling Stones?! Please! Sure they are one of the greatest bands of all time, but they will forever lack the intensity of these godfathers of metal. Who cares if they haven't had an album since 82' they still rock, besides the stones haven't released a good album since 82'. For real.

Jason Bonham solo

19. Ed Z -
my favourite band. Where is Robert in the interview?

The Stones, Led Zeppelin; it's all good. I just hope Zeppelin doesn't come off looking foolish as Mic did at the SuperBowl halftime. I like my good memories of both bands. As Grace Slick once said, "Old people should not be doing Rock and Roll."

Pinetop Perkins' 80-year career still going

AP
Fri Nov 27, 2009 4:03am PST

AP - Noisy crowds in smoky bars don't bother 96-year-old bluesman Pinetop Perkins. It's all part of his job. Most nights, after he snuffs out his menthol cigarette, Perkins slides onto the piano bench in some club and … More »
