Jimmy Page & John Paul Jones: The 2007 Interview

Posted Fri Nov 30, 2007 2:46pm PST by Dave DiMartino in Led Zeppelin's Return Flight

On Friday, Nov. 16th, Y! Music was lucky enough to get an audience with Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones.

In excellent form, both very warm and friendly, the pair detailed the events leading up to the planned Dec. 10th reunion concert and offered their one-of-a-kind perspective on being lifelong members of this very phenomenal band.

We at Y! Music thank Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, and of course their label for making this very exclusive interview possible. We hope you're one of the lucky people who actually get to witness December's performance.

Enjoy!

I had the chance of seeing and listening to Robert Plant & Jimmy Page "No Quarter Tour" in 1995 in Mexico City, it was a great concert but without John Paul Jones, so do not forget to include MEXICO in the tour. (not only England and USA). ah! this is to garytpiaa, who cares the age if the music is fantastic?

thanks steve p. am 52yrs old and no cover band could touch zeppelin. back in the 60's 70's every bar had a live band. most bands play cover tunes and try to do there on tunes.Zeppelin is and was the pinacle of all bands to reach. i had the chance to see them twice.20.000 people and 80.000 people and love both show.i am from detroit and went to a concert every week black sabbath i will name along with zepp. i have seen every one. i've seen aerosmith, sober then stone i think i have seen every band that way. alice cooper was graet live. but Zepp[elin was way i became a long hair hippie and change my life i love them that much.

The song can only remain the same if Plant is out front. Will he be? How about a southern CA show?

I just remembered the rest of my old childhood song entitled "Let's Go Exploring!":
"Let's go exploring, let's go exploring! Over the hill, to the creek, into the forest full of treats!"
I also have another song entitled "The Western Club": "Western Club, Western Club, if you wanna have fun join the Western Club! We sing, we play, we run, we stay, in the Western Club! We say 'howdy' to everyone and give a great big smile! So if you're down and feeling lonely, just come in and stay for awhile!" We can have a picnic of coke and candy.

I just hope all 4 of them have fun at the o2 show and they decide to come to America on tour.It would be by far the biggest tour of this new millenium.Maybe,it will inspire them to record new material. We'll just have to wait and see. That's part of being a loyal Led Zeppelin fan,the mistery of what they will do next.Fly high Led Zeppelin!!!

Seen LedZep in 1976. This is the one thing you must do in one's lifetime is see Led Zeppelin in concert. It will be a magical experience......You will be dazed if they play a 30 min version of "No Quarter"

This band is the best, truly original and whose music will be around long after we are all gone.Music now days just all sounds the same anymore and bands come and go and have no longevity. So happy they will tour again!

500 years from now Led Zepplin will still be played and remembered for the mark they made on music. We should just be fortunate that most of the members are still around to make one last rumble. Rock on Zepplin

If they tour do you think it will make the most MONEY of any band in HISTORY ?????????
TALENT WISE THEY GOT ANY OTHER BAND BEAT !!!!
The only QUESTION I would have for the BAND is WHY didn't you GUYS do this SOONER ???

my all time favorite song is "STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN"

39. Joe B -
Very WELL SAID Steve B my Brother-in-Law is a HUGE Rolling Stones fan and He thinks that no one will break there all time TOUR RECORD of 500 million dollars in one year and I feel that if LED ZEPPELIN does a WORLD TOUR they will break the record with even less stops than the ROLLING STONES did !!!!

And I would say the BEATLES are better than the ROLLING STONES and LED ZEPPELIN is number one for HARD ROCK but talent wise LED ZEPPELIN RULES ALL !!!!!

AT LEAST THEY (Led Zeppelin) should TOUR for the FANS give them one more WORLD TOUR !!!!

That would be a STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN on EARTH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
