Pete & The Pirates at Emo’s Annex: 3.5 out of 5

Good, chilled music for a summery day. Enjoyable.

Blind Pilot at Emo’s Annex: 3.3

Decent folk-rock.

Fanfarlo at Emo’s Annex: 3.8

Good, cheery fun. Another great band for sunny days.

The Hold Steady at Club Deville: 4.1

Good, solid rock. Pretty anthemic, just a shame I couldn’t get any pictures.

Future Of The Left at Aces Lounge: 4.4

Rocking hard, fast, and loud. Shame the crazy bar-stage thing made photography hard.

Cut Off Your Hands at Aces Lounge: 4.0

Fun, hard-edged pop-rock. Very bouncy.

Devo at Austin Music Hall: 4.3

Really impressive, even to someone who hadn't heard of them before SXSW. Went a bit surreal at the end.
