Phil Spector Gets 19 Years In Jail
Phil Spector has been sentenced today to 19 years in jail for the murder of cocktail waitress Lana Clarkson.
The "Wall of Sound" producer was found guilty in April of second degree murder and using a firearm in committing a crime.
He was given a sentence of 19 years.
Clarkson was murdered on February 3, 2003 hours after meeting Spector at the House Of Blues nightclub in Los Angeles.
The cocktail waitress was murdered with a single gunshot wound to the mouth in the foyer of Spector's LA mansion.
Two separate juries heard Spector's driver tell them that Spector came out of the house holding a gun saying, " I think I killed someone."
According to Spector's lawyer, Clarkson killed herself. Spector went so far to suggest Clarkson kissed the gun before shooting herself.
Jurors failed to reach a unanimous verdict in Spector's first trial in 2007.
In the retrial, the jury agreed with the prosecution, that Spector was a violent man with a gun obsession.
A string of women testified that Spector was obsessed with guns and like to threaten women with them.
Phil Spector is famous for producing hits including the Ronettes' "Be My Baby," the Righteous Brothers' "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" and Ike and Tina Turner's "River Deep Mountain High."

not that it's true or right to say that
And Steve: Maneater is correct - do your homework...it's usually the other way around...if you don't believe it, right here in 2009, go out as a black guy for one night ... just one night ... and let me know what you think.
[profane], people who bring polarizing politics into a conversation unprovoked should not be allowed to have kids. I don't care if the are democrat or republican, they need to just shut the hell up and fall down a long and narrow flight of stairs.
Anyway @ Skobel
The problem I have with conservatives running the justice system is that they too often ignore the human factor. They say the law is the law and must be followed. Fair enough, but what about compation and sympathy? We can't neglect the fact that we are in fact humans and prone to make errors and act out of passion. A rigid legal system does not consider this.
As for liberals, indeed they too often do go a bit soft on some criminals, and in the case of Spector, I think what the guy needs is psychiatric help. Apparently he has been showing signs of violence before, so maybe a nice outpouring of emotions and a someone to talk to will set him straight.
First words out of Spector's new cell mate, Bubba? how 'bout " you've lost that lovn' feelin', that lovn' feelin' ohh ohh ohh.."
