As a man he should pay her prenatal expenses and anything to do with the child. As far as spousal support..Im with everyone else she needs to get up and start making her own money again! She got accustomed to the lifestyle or as someone said HIS lifestyle, then she needs to get in the studio to support the lifestyle! His job is to take support/care for the child, not Kelis!! And as far as trying to have the best and most exspensive cribs, strollers, and all that stuff...its not necessary, just as long as the child got the basics!!

I'm reading a lot of posts that NaS "needs to be a man and take care of his child"...Although neither one of us knows NaS personally, do you really think he's not going to take care of his child? Come on now. I'm sure NaS will have to pay child support BUT he should not have to pay spousal support. She's a grown up adult the last time I checked and she has the ability to go to the studio and work. So why should NaS support her expensive lifestyle? Is NaS the reason she's broke? Kelis is supoose to be this strong black woman, why is she in this situation? Thats not strong...talking about "I'm broke"...What STRONG woman would allow herself to be in a situation where she has to depend on a man? Its 2009 not 1959. I have no sympathy for Kelis, she needs to get up off her backside and go to work and earn HER own money. And stop making xxx tapes...LOL...

This is what happens to people who do not live to love but love to live. I don't think Nas really believe the baby is his. If this is not the case he is stepping into the statistics of being a no good Dad.

It's stupid women like her that makes it hard for honorable other women. Why would you think getting pregnant would make a man stay around and want a baby? But the unborn should not suffer at the hands of stupid parents so he should own up to his responsiblities and take care only the baby. If she wants back that kind of life style then she should find her own way its over and she should just get some percentage for the time in the marriage thats it!!

I'm not sure the reasons for divorce or whether the child's rightful father is in question, but I do think that Kelis is ridiculous for thinking that she deserves to maintain the same life style as before. Spousal support was created when it was custom for wives to be stay at home moms who never expanded their education and had no work experience- thus rendering them incapable of taking care of themself to any degree. Kelis has had ample opportunity to expand her career and education and is fully responsible for not advancing herself as a strong woman let alone a grown ass adult. Shame on her for thinkin that since her man is rich that she has a right to his money. Regular income women are responsible for carrying themselves after a divorce, what makes her better? The fact that she has more/better opportunities? She needs to make her own damn money to support herself. The child is both parents responsibility equally, but spousal support? Be responsible for yourself and quit making us women out to be mooches who take men's money.

Well if she allowed everything to be in his name that is her fault. She should have a back up plan! Yes he needs to pay for the child. Yes he needs to help with the child if it is his. As far as a lavish life style...get up make a record sell millions. She has done it once she can do it again! If not, then I am sure she can pull together a job from somewhere. I am a bit amazed that people really ask for "spousal support" it is stupid. I work 40+ an hour, go to school full time, raise a child alone, and all this with out the help of a man. She needs to stop looking for a handout, and do something about her situation!

What the heck happen here? Didn't Nas get a tattoo with her name on him. This is so sad, Nas really needs to step up to the plate and take care of his child. How long were they together anyway? What reason did they break up for? Did Kelis cheat or something? I think there is a whole lot to take into consideration, more then we are hearing about.

I think that he should be responsible for paying half of everything but not a penny more. Maybe if she is broke she should sell some of those watches and all that stuff until she can afford to be living the boss life again.

He should pay for his child and since there was no prenup he needs to pay up. They should never have gotten married without the proper paperwork in order. He should be willing to take care of his child and stop being like all other baby daddy's. I mean he has the means to care for his child right?

He should only have to pay for child support..It's his baby. She's not seeming too bossy anymore. &&* she does not deserve to live the lifestyle she had with him anymore she is NO longer with him. Reality Check.
