Kelis Says Nas Has Cut Her Off Without A Penny

Kelis says that estranged husband Nas has cut her off without a penny--just as she is expecting their child this month.

According to legal papers, rap star Nas is not paying any prenatal expenses and Kelis is flat broke. "I have run out of money," she said.

Kelis is asking a judge to order Nas to pay spousal support, child support, all pregnancy-related expenses, and one half of all medical expenses after the child is born. She also wants $3,500 for the baby nurse after the child's birth, and $20,000 for strollers, cribs, and other baby supplies.

Kelis says she is entitled to maintain the lifestyle she became accustomed to during their marriage. That was a lifestyle that involved owning expensive jewelery, like a diamond bracelet worth $190,000, a 9-carat, cushion-cut solitaire diamond engagement ring, and numerous watches "such as Cartier, Rolex, Frank Muller, and Chopard." The couple also owns five homes.

Nas has not yet responded.

It's one thing to separate on mutual terms, but it's another thing when she's trying to take everything he's got and she's the cause of everything that's happened. She was the one who stepped out on him, not to mention that her lover took pictures of her and plastered them on the internet. And furthermore, she's going to have to take a DNA test before Nas is advindicated for the release of those pics. First of all, her bucket had too many holes in it and the lover, himself, all he's trying to do is get some money out of the entire ordeal and that's the bottom line.

That's why all women need to make sure that you have your own money and a good job. We as women can not depend on these men,but he does need to pay the child support because she didn't get pregrant by herself.

The lawyers will win most of it,then the state will take their cut when they are forced to liquidate their assets if it is a messy divorce.I hope ya had a prenup,if not dude yer fked, and get a paternity test done so there is no doubt as to the father of the child or you will go thru the same emotional hell I still live with.

just wait and see because althought i love kelis she has history of opening up her legggs When they should be closed. the baby most likely is NOT nas's wait and see.he just may get off scott free and she will be look real bad. Man ,kelis i brought all ya record were is ya dough.You know you can't relay on a man to take care of you unless ya game it tight and yours honey is very weak you got caught out there with some other dude.her life is straight from one of those street books about being hood rich,the story will not end well for her.

Legally, she is entitled to the spousal and child support. Being that Nas was the bread winner in the marriage, he is still somewhat responsible for the care and up-keep of both his ex-wife and child. As I understand, spousal support is not always temporary, especially in a case like this, where Kelis is not likely to get married to someone else anytime soon. I thought that kelis was a BIG hit overseas, but i guess not. This divorce can get VERY UGLY, VERY QUICK!

Keli needs to sell all the jewels and get back to reallity that the good life comes to an end . You have to prepare yourself for a time like this. Now if you want to continue to live that life of the rich and famous you need to go back in the studio and make some hits. Don't expect a man to support you all the time You have to be your own woman and hold down your children the best way you can. Girl you can do it.

I don't understand why she cant make her own money. If you made your the boss once you can do it again. I do believe Nas should pay child support, all the medical expenses and give her money for the nurse. As far as spousal support that is up to the judge. She wasn't broke when they got married so that is really her own fault if she is broke now. You never let the hubby controll the money you make.

I believe that he should enough respect for his; exwife who's bringing his son into the world ; to give her support. He should want her to be able to provide for their child. I don't think the money should be spent on her to profile like she is still balling in money, but to make sure the baby gets what it needs and proper healthy baby check-ups. I hope he is planning on being a part of his son's life. That's where so many young father's go wrong and they get upset when someone else step up to be in the kid 's life. If you don't care about the kids mother that don't mean you have to desert your child. A little suggestion if he don't want to give the money to her go and buy all the baby items and give them to her and the baby will have it. Nas don't turn your back on your son it is TOO MANY KIDS THA GROW UP WITHOUT THEIR FATHER.

This is understandable that she is intiled to child support, but alomony? She needs to get of her ass and make another track, He is not resposible for life style, Black women get it so confused when it comes to relationships. Most of them figure that a man needs take care of them if they have a child by them, that isn't so.

Man do the right thing and provide for your family because thats your family and not somebody elses. She didn't have to beg you to love her at first, so she shouldn't have to beg now. Nas need to swallow that man ego or that over the top pride and be there for your wife and kid. It takes a real man to face the music instead of runnig and complaining about what could have been.

it takes two to people to make a baby. I think he should give her the money she needs for her child. but I also think that a woman should not have to depend on a man. get back to work. don't be spoiled by the lifestyle it's not always about you. it's about your baby.

I agree with some of you on here. That we don't really know what is going on in their world. It may be a situation where Nas is questioning whether or not this baby is his. There is supposed to be some sex tap out there with Kelis? I don't know ?

Kelis should stand on her own two feet and be an independent woman and taker care of herself. She should sell that $190,000 bracelet and 9k diamond. I bet that might cover the baby expenses. So, she is not broke.

If the marriage is over, Nas has a legal obligation to take care of the childre (which are his) and pay alimony.

I think the most important thing is :nas: to pay the child cost and about kelly life style i think she is mature enough to know when things are going well or not.And not when it has already gone wrong and trying to give the blame to NAS.
