Snoop Dogg & Buzz Aldrin Team Up To Mark 40th Anniversary Of Moonwalk
Buzz Aldrin, the second astronaut to set foot on the moon, has teamed up with rapper Snoop Dogg for another fantastic voyage.
This time, it's into the world of rap.
The pair have teamed up to record a track and video to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 landing that set Aldrin and Neil Armstrong on the lunar surface.
The track is called "Rocket Experience" and features the 79-year-old spaceman "rapping" lyrics including the lines: "I tell the story 'bout me time on the moon now/The sky was black even though the sun shine down/Moonwalking's such a trip, it's so fine/When you're walking in the lunar dust."
The single and video were Aldrin's idea, as a way to reinvigorate interest in the U.S. Space Program.
"The Americans who will take man to Mars are already born and they don't even know that space is man's fate," explained Aldrin. He's hoping this video will change that.
Quincy Jones has produced the track, which also features Snoop Dogg, Talib Kweli, and Soulja Boy Tell'Em.
"Buzz Aldrin is so gangsta," Taleb Kweli said.
