Liam Gallagher Breaks Silence: Oasis Are Dead

Posted Thu Oct 8, 2009 10:48am PDT by Andy Pemberton in Musictoob

Oasis singer Liam Gallagher has broken his silence and told the world: Oasis are dead.

"Oasis is no longer. I think we all know that. So that's done," he said.

Well, der

Liam's older brother guitarist Noel said the same thing over a month ago when he quit the band for good, saying: "I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer."

Still, Liam wanted the final word.

"It's a shame, but that's life. We had a good run at it. The thing about Oasis is, no one...we ended Oasis. No one ended it for us. Which was pretty, kind of...cool," he said.

And plans for the future? The singer is launching a range of clothes called Pretty Green, but his heart is still in music.

"I'll be doing music to the day I die," said Liam.

Well I'm gonna file this away with the rest of the "Stuff no one should care about"

They had one, MAYBE two good albums 15 years ago and then walked around like they were Gods doing nothing but alienating people and making themselves look like jerks.

This is what drugs and alcohol can do to a band. Oh, and egos too.

"We can now call them D.O.Asis... ",that was funny dude!

Hopefully this time they'll be using "nine Inch nails" on the lid of the coffin.

I hope these douches stay broken up this time

Didn't even realize they were still around, just saw this on the yahoo home page. No big loss, they were kind of the wanker version of the Stone Roses anyway.

who cares... they were way overrated. maybe they'll die so we don't have to hear about them anymore.

I have seen many bands over the years, and up until I saw these guys live opening for U2 in Oakland for U2's pop tour, I was impressed by them. ...but up until that time...and since I have never seen a group act with utter contempt for the audience they are preforming for...Liam acted like he was bored...like he had something better to do. It would be different if their music was revolutionary...then the behavior could be forgiven...but alas, their egos far exceeded their vision. A good therapist was definitely needed for these two.

haha some of you ppl are absolute morons. seems all you sour pusses have an axe to grind or just plain stupid. One of the best bands ever. till next time Oasis. you all obviously listen to cr@p rap I take it

ooooo. they did make the comment that they would be bigger than the beatles. not a good way to make an impression. still though, i must be all alone in this belief, but i really like them. champagne supernova was great and wonderwall is one of my top five favorite songs of all time. even as a fan though, i had no idea they were even back together. lol. did they come out with anything good since morning glory?

I thought Oasis was a good band. It-s a shame they don-t get along and they are done now.
