Jennifer Hudson To Finally Get Justice?

Obviously, the 2008 holiday season for the surviving members of the Hudson family will not exactly be a joyful one. On October 24, Jennifer Hudson's mother (pictured here), brother, and nephew were brutally murdered in Chicago...thus ensuring that there would be little cause for celebration between Halloween and New Year's Eve this year.

But perhaps today's news will give the Idol and her grieving relatives a little bit of much-needed peace this season.

Today William Balfour--Jennifer's brother-in-law and the prime suspect in this tragic triple-homicide, who refused to take a lie-detector test when the police investigation began weeks ago--was officially arrested. According Chicago police spokeswoman Monique Bond, he will be formally charged with the killings of Darnell Donerson (Jennifer's mom), Jason Hudson (her brother), and Julian King (her nephew).

Balfour, age 27, is the estranged husband of Jennifer's sister, Julia, and the stepfather of 7-year-old murder victim Julian (Julia's son). He has a previous conviction on his record for attempted murder, and served seven years in jail for that offense. He was already back in Chicago's Stateville Correctional Center, awaiting a December 3 parole-violation hearing, when the arrest was made today.

While everyone is innocent until proven guilty, of course, I do hope the police have the right man here. I would definitely like Jennifer and her family to have justice--and some peace--in the new year.

Thank God !!! I am so glad there is finally some peace for this family..But he's going to stand before God and we all know what God will say, "Depart from me I know you not"And those he (Balfour)killed will be there...But it's good to know that he didn't get away..Jennifer and Julia, you are both in my prayers,strong God is with you in your time of need...God bless and much love to you both..

If this man has done the crime, I hope there is justice so the rest of the Hudson family will have peace. I also hope they get the other people who are involved too (remember he was already in jail when they found the nephew in the truck). The fact that someone can hurt a little boy the way the suspect did was foul! Im praying for you guys!

Thank the Lord that this case is progressing where the Hudson can soon have some peace. It's always unfortunate when you lose loved ones to violence especially when the holidays are near. I will continue to keep you and your family in my prayers. May God bless you and keep you near.

I normally don't post things on here, but this story has touched my heart as I watch Jennifer's career bloom. I too have lost family in violence and it will get better. I know it doesn't seem that way now, but the Lord will not let you hurt long. As far as the man (or people) who committed this horrible crime, I feel sorry for you when you are thrown into Hell and burn slowly. As far as Sabrina goes...people don't even acknowledge her ignorance. Although there are holes in the story when trying to figure out the truth or the perp...I pray to God they get the right person(s). God Bless Hudson family.

I do not believe this is the killer. I think the police have settled for a scapegoat; they wasted too much time in the beginning by not looking for the "real" killer.
