Mika Vs. Carson Kressley In A Battle Of The Bulge

Posted Fri Jan 18, 2008 3:24pm PST by Lyndsey Parker in Reality Rocks

Well, Queer Eye For The Straight Guy has been off the air for a couple seasons now, meaning our nation's former metrosexuals are free to grow back their nose hair, dust off their Dockers, and decorate their bachelor-pad apartments with framed posters of Corvettes and St. Pauli Girls once again. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted. Enjoy this video of the impeccably groomed Fab 5 in all ther pre-cancellation glory here:

Anyway, regular Lifetime Network viewers know that Queer Eye fashionista Carson Kressley is now applying his expertise to America's female population on How To Look Good Naked, a makeover show that--much like Dove's "real women" ad campaign--aims to help women appreciate their imperfect, un-airbrushed bodies no matter how lumpy, bumpy, or frumpy they may be.

It's a good message, one that needs to be shouted loud and clear in this senselessly size-zero-obsessed society, but I do have one problem with it: Carson is seriously ripping off British fop-popper Mika, whose single and video "Big Girl (You Are Beautiful)" came out months before How To Look Good Naked hit the Lifetime airwaves.

Compare and contrast the trailer for the TV show with Mika's "Big Girl" video below, and you tell me if you don't see any similarities...

Cute video, never seen anything like it. Although i am all for "curvy women" i will say some wear things that they shouldnt. When all you see is cellulite and flub, its not attractive. Dress up the curves, don't downplay them by showing the wrong thing.
