Welcome, Matt! Idol Giraud Returns At Home State Show
Matt Giraud, the nine-live'd season 8 American Idol contestant who came back as a Wild Card and then cemented his place in the Idol trivia books by becoming the first recipient of the Judges' Save, has yet to be signed to a record deal, despite fans' dogged Twitter trending. But judging from footage of Matt's new original songs--performed at his first two post-Idol solo concerts at the Cornerstone Church in his home state of Michigan this weekend--labels should come a-courtin' soon. And if they don't, then he ought to just put out his music on his own. Why wait?
Along with some songs the piano man popularly performed on American Idol ("You Found Me," "My Funny Valentine," "Have You Ever Loved A Woman," and, of course, "Georgia On My Mind") and a fun Michael Jackson medley, Matt played five originals that he co-wrote: "Go On And Sing, Boy," "I Miss You Tonight," "Breaking In A Broken Heart," "Whatever It Takes," and "Gimme A Break." The latter number was NOT the theme song to the Nell Carter '80s sitcom, it turned out, but it was cool nonetheless.
Check out the footage of four of the originals that has already surfaced, plus the MJ tribute...and while you're at it: #signmattgiraud #signmattgiraud #signmattgiraud #signmattgiraud.

His original music is amazing! Both the music and lyrics are brillantly written. So much meaning and passion. Definitely listen if you haven't already! I am so proud to be Matt's fan!
