Everybody Cut Footloose! Crosby Loggins Wins 'Rock The Cradle'
So last night MTV aired the finale of its rockstar-offspring "talent" show Rock The Cradle, on which Crosby Loggins--son of Kenny--snagged the $100,000 grand prize.
Congrats, Crosby.
Crosby was certainly the rightful winner of the Cradle title, considering that the champ on this show also got a record deal and, presumably, a legit chance to follow in those mighty big parental footstep.
Sure, Jesse Blaze Snider (oft-mohawked rocker son of Twisted Sister's Dee) and Chloe Lattanzi (certifiably psychotic spawn of Olivia Newton-John) made for better (read: trainwreckier) TV. But of the final three, good old credible Crosby was the contender with the best chance of actually making it on a major label. And probably the only one of the three that any major-label exec would want to even bother dealing with, to be honest.
However, although Crosby tried to savor his victory and solidify his star status with performances of the Bravery's "Believe" and the Raconteurs' "Steady As She Goes"...not-so-steady third-place contestant Chloe managed to totally upstage him with her "I Honestly Love You" duet, featuring her visibly uncomfortable, hopelessly devoted mama Olivia.
Because let's face it, nothing makes for better/trainwreckier television than overly collagen-injected Chloe simulating a Sally-style orgasm on the floor, while her overly Botoxed mom sits on a throne attempting to salvage whatever's left of her once-innocent '70s soft-rock ballad. It's probably a good thing that all that Botox kept Olivia relatively expressionless throughout this eye-gougingly fascinating duet debacle. Because gawd knows what the woman was really thinking.
So happy Mother's Day, Chloe and Olivia. And once again, congratulations to Crosby.

Is David Archuleta The Worst?
While many think David Archuleta is a shoe-in to become the next American Idol, there's a group of people who think he's the worst contestant! VoteForTheWorst.com selects one member from American Idol every season whom they think is the worst, and encourages people to vote for them. So basically, they purposely try to screw with the system. This year alone, VoteForTheWorst supported Amanda Overmeyer then, following her dismissal, Kristy Lee Cook, Brooke White and lastly, Jason Castro. With all their favorites gone, they've moved onto little Archuleta.
The site says, "Catch Your Breath, Gaspy...You're the New VFTW Pick! Obviously less talented and less marketable than Syesha and David Cook, Gaspy is the new VFTW pick! Sure, he's annoying, but that's why he's perfect."

It's been a bad week, I suppose, for Little David. VFTW.com has chosen him and then this news of course, which you reported on way way way back in a column. I hope you will repost it now.
Rickey.org got eaten alive for posting this by DA fans and he says so on his blog. He tells them - in a witty way - that they owe him an apology.
Love you LP. Don't heed the haters on your threads. You have far more fans. Complainers are always louder - that's all.

AP Source: David Archuleta's dad loses 'Idol' backstage pass
By LYNN ELBER – 5 hours ago
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Backstage meddling has caught up "American Idol" favorite David Archuleta's dad, who's been banned from rehearsals, a person working for the TV talent contest said Friday.
Jeff Archuleta was told this week by producers that he can no longer join his 17-year-old son David as he prepares for the show, the person familiar with the matter told The Associated Press. The person wasn't authorized to comment publicly and spoke on the condition of anonymity.
The show's action was first reported Friday by the online Web site TMZ.
David Archuleta of Murray, Utah, is one of three contestants left as the top-rated Fox show heads toward the May 20-21 finale. The fresh-faced teenager with the big voice has consistently been deemed a front-runner by the judges and been a consistent fan favorite.
Jeff Archuleta's intense backstage involvement had become a source of concern for the series, the person connected with "American Idol" said — but it was a lyric change on Tuesday's show that pushed producers to act.
Despite a warning, Jeff Archuleta insisted on altering "Stand by Me," one of two songs his son sang on the show Tuesday. By adding a verse from Sean Kingston's "Beautiful Girls," the father incurred additional costs for "American Idol," the person said.
Fox declined comment. Attempts to reach Jeff Archuleta for comment were unsuccessful. A phone number listed under his name in Murray, Utah, was no longer in service, and Fox did not immediately respond to a request Friday evening for help in contacting the family.
This got me wanting to watch, as I have seen here on Entertainment Tonight with her mom re: her eating disorder. I wonder how much of the "psychotic" was editing?
Thanks LP.
Take care of yourself.
