Blake Lewis Is All Mixed Up

Posted Tue May 13, 2008 4:18pm PDT by Lyndsey Parker in Reality Rocks

If there was ever an American Idol alum whose music deserved the remix threatment it's...Clay Aiken.

Nah, just kidding, folks. I don't forsee Mr. "I'm Not Trying To Be Justin Timberlake" collaborating with the Neptunes any time soon. I'm talking about a different popular second-placer: last season's Blake Lewis, of course.

The only Idol to ever pass the mic with Doug E. Fresh, beatbox almost every dang time he opened his mouth, and publicly call Taylor Hicks a "d**chebag," Blake actually has been trying his best to be Justin Timberlake. And he hasn't done too shabby a job of it, either. He's brought a little bit of sexy back to AmIdol, that's for sure.

So the beatboxing wonderboy has just released The Remixes EP, featuring electro reworkings by such DJs and producers Dave Aude (Annie Lennox, Britney Spears, Blake's ulitmate idol BT); DJ Dan (Fall Out Boy, New Order), and Jake Benson (Billie Myers, Erika Jayne). If you're curious to get in the mix, listen to it HERE.

who are you to judge?

A blogger! What, someone can't judge music anymore? Are we too PC for that now? "Oh my, everything is great, its not what I like but I can see the value in the music." Bullsh*t, there is so much crappy music out there and AMIDOL is part of the reason for this. Everyone today just wants to be famous for the sake of being famous and usually try to put out some crappy album to get there. Heidi? The Simpson sisters? Hillary Duff? Paris? Come on. Not everyone needs to be making music and the sooner they learn that, the sooner we can get back to listening to real artists, not just dancing and singing monkeys.

I can judge because I can hear and see. I read an interview of him by a dj that it sounded like his head may have swelled. Talking about humility and respect toward another co-idol. But then again, he can judge anyone...., in a poetic way, that is.

OK, I scaned through each little clip and I don't know if it was your intention, but Blake comes off as boarder-line retarded.

BLAKE LEWIS NEWS:

Here in Detroit on Fox NEWS, tonight Blake Lewis is on it. He will say something about how AI producers cost him a chance at the AI title. I think he probably means RE: the song chosen for the victor. LP, I think you already know this. But just in case... I love you girl!!!

I don't think it would have mattered what DC sang, he was not going to get any good comments from Simon. I think AL sees a male version of Miley Cyrus with little Davey, and are doing everything they can to promote him and make big bucks. Unfortunately, the tween sect is not going to want to buy "Warbling with the Oldies" by little Davey after he finishes Idol; and that's all he can sing. I think DC rocked the house and has tons more talent and range, but is not going to win. This is why 5 out of the last 7 Idols have been all but forgotten. Getting a bit old for me. Note to Idol: beware of Daddy Archuleta if little Davey wins.
