IDOL SPOILER ALERT: David Cook Wins!

Hey everyone...I'm at the Nokia Theater right now, so I won't be able to blog in detail about the American Idol finale until later tonight. But here's the one piece of vital info you need to know right now, just announced:

DAVID COOK IS YOUR NEW AMERICAN IDOL!

Man, this news just rocks. Literally!

Yes, the unassuming Missouri bartender with no Smithson-style showbiz connections has trumped aggressively hyped/stage-parented Star Search winner David Archuleta. America got it right this time. Thanks for rocking the vote, Idol fans! (And if those Internet rumors are true that this outcome was fixed, well then, I guess thanks to whomever rigged it in Cook's favor...)

I know I said in my earlier blog that I didn't want to David The C to win (ONLY because I was afraid it would ruin his career)...but now that I'm here in the middle of all this celebratory hubbub, I'm pretty pleased with the results. And Cook's career seems pretty intact so far. So huzzah for Cook!

Definitely glad of this outcome. Though I feel bad for little David, he needed this win much more than David C., you know he would get a record deal regardless.
And as adorable as David Cook is, it sure was nice getting to see Michael Johns again!!

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOYEAAAHHHHHHH! Finally A Rocker WINS on IDOL... They learned their lesson after booting off Daughtry! And I have to say... That Carrie Underwood has gotten even hotter!!! Great finale tonight!

I must say I was torn up until the broadcast Tuesday night but leaned towards Arhculetta because I thought he performed better than Cook did that night. Sometimes Cook's cockiness got the better of him (even when he won tonight he didn't seem surprised) but I was surprised though and I'm happy for Cook. Archuletta will have no problem getting a record deal.............they both Rock!!!!!

I was really disappointed. I believe that David A was wayyyyy better than David C for the past couple of weeks, especially LASTNIGHT!!!! I think the wrong David won. Even though David A is young, he should have won. Jordon Sparks was young when she won Idol last year.

I totally love David Cook & am sooooooo happy he won as you can see by my earlier post. Just want to wish Little Archie all the best. I believe that he will have a good carrer as well. I just think he needs to grow up a little.

you got it right this time. david cook is the more matured, well-rounded, hot performer. 'tho david a. has a good voice, it will sound monotonous in the long run. david cook will be the one to excite listeners and will sell more records. HURRRAAAYYYYYY!!!!! love you david C.

I also agree with Simon. It did not matter who won. I think they were both great. David Cook has more showmanship and Davaid A. has a better singing voice. I think they both will go a long way and both are winners, even if one has the official American Idol title.

What a class act David C is. I was so moved by his reaction to winning - then wanting to share it with all of the Idols, putting his arm around Archie and Jason. . . classy - very classy. Loved when mom and brother came on stage - loved when brother mouthed "that's my brother" . . . truly a great ending. Both Davids are winners - just pleased to have such an emotional/uplifting ending. Thank you, David C.
