IDOL SPOILER ALERT: David Cook Wins!

Hey everyone...I'm at the Nokia Theater right now, so I won't be able to blog in detail about the American Idol finale until later tonight. But here's the one piece of vital info you need to know right now, just announced:

DAVID COOK IS YOUR NEW AMERICAN IDOL!

Man, this news just rocks. Literally!

Yes, the unassuming Missouri bartender with no Smithson-style showbiz connections has trumped aggressively hyped/stage-parented Star Search winner David Archuleta. America got it right this time. Thanks for rocking the vote, Idol fans! (And if those Internet rumors are true that this outcome was fixed, well then, I guess thanks to whomever rigged it in Cook's favor...)

I know I said in my earlier blog that I didn't want to David The C to win (ONLY because I was afraid it would ruin his career)...but now that I'm here in the middle of all this celebratory hubbub, I'm pretty pleased with the results. And Cook's career seems pretty intact so far. So huzzah for Cook!

I picked David Cook early in the competition just like my husband picked Carrie Underwood in season 4! Now I need to pick out my clothes for tomorrow. Have fun! DC all the way!

Yahooooo for David Cook! I am a hometown girl in KC. It felt like an earthquake around here after Seacrest annouced his name! I have a friend leaving town tomorrow afternoon and stopping to pick up Cook t-shirts for about 12 people...100% towards Cancer Society to support the cause and Cook's brother! Way to go!!!

Without a doubt the best man won...and I'm glad Simon admitted that after a second look at last night's show that the result wasn't as clear cut as he had though...and actually apologised to David C before the result.

I was down with Cook from day one and my nieces loved Archuletta. I tried not to get too excited when he won cuz they were kinda sad!

i was acully kinda upset about the results but i am sorta glad he won but david a is a wonderful singer and he will probly go really far becuse of his voice and wat not but i am happy david cook won you could tell winning this was very meaningful to him

As an "older" woman, David Cook made me jump up and wish I were 25 again...What a singer and not bad on the eyes either. Love that evil little grin!

I'm not usually a big fan of American Idol or it's winners but I have to say David Cook's talent, creativity and all-around-nice-guyness won me over. The right David definitely won.
